What is a robot ?

• In simple words “Anything

you can build to do something

for you is basically a robot.”• ACCORDING TO DICTIONARY :• “A machine capable of carrying

out a complex series of actions

automatically”• (esp. in science fiction) A machine

resembling a human being and able

to replicate certain human movements

and functions.

The origin of word ROBOT :

• It was Originated :from the country Czech, from the word robota  which means 'forced labour'. The term was coined in K. Čapek's play R.U.R.  'Rossum's Universal Robots' in (1920).

Why do we need robot…

Well the answer lies in the depth and that is at low input we can have a high output.•Robots may decrease the need of many workers •Robots are important technology that greatly increases the productivity. •It does work with more efficiency .•Robotic are being used in the high-value areas such as automobile manufacturing. •It requires no payment, once you own it, it can work for you till its whole life.•If robots are treated well and serviced well then it may live more than a human.

• Robotic can eliminate the problems of social security such countries competing for pool of workers and lack of workers due to old age.

• most of the really popular robots are exploring places people can't go yet (Voyager left the solar system not too long ago, Spirit and Opportunity are still running around Mars) and doing things too dangerous for humans to do safely (like hunting for roadside bombs in war zones or searching the bottom of the ocean).

• Some car manufacturers use big industrial robots for welding and lifting cars and trucks.

• pictures of remote control robots for doing surgery from somewhere outside the hospital, like from another country are also available
