• The widened causeway footprint has been optimized to minimize encroachment into areas of biofilm

• Our studies show there is currently extensive biofilm at Roberts Bank and Fraser River estuary which supports large populations of migrating and overwintering birds

BIOFILM

• Our assessment has concluded that feeding opportunities for birds would not be significantly affected after the construction of the new terminal

• After the implementation of mitigation, the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project is not expected to result in any significant adverse residual effects on any of the 16 valued components

• No cumulative effects are anticipated, with the exception of a cumulative effect to southern resident killer whales

• These conclusions will be subject to a thorough review by an independent review panel

• Port Metro Vancouver is confident potential adverse effects can be fully or partially avoided or reduced through Project design and the implementation of environmental management programs
