Professional experience

Director and Publisher – Collaborative Media International 2009 – present NGO dedicated to furthering intercultural dialogue and understanding between the USA, the greater Middle East,

and world ‐wide through multinational collaboration, research, and education. Publishes works including:

1) International Education Series (i.e. Moroccan Arabic ); 2) International Collaboration Series (i.e. Bowles / Beats / Tangier ); 3) Contemporary Voices Series – North Africa (i.e. Shakespeare Lane ), and 4) Fellow Traveler’s Series.

Adj. Assistant Professor – University of Massachusetts ‐ Amherst 2008 – present Human Dimensions Research Group. Develops a wide range of creative and innovative initiatives with academics,

administrators, students, artists, community advocates and others (i.e. co ‐convener of the Tangier International Conferences and chairs Partners for International Collaboration and Education ); mentors students and facilitates

networks (i.e. with the Institute for International Education’s Peace Scholars Leadership Academy and serves on

Moroccan student thesis committee); and publishes a variety of educational, analytical, and academic work.

Research Director – Colorado Workers for Innovations and New Solutions 2008 – 2009 Established Colorado WINS Research Center (i.e. research network, databases, share ‐drives, etc.) to enable a new

organizing campaign that is among the nations’ largest. Collaborates to win reforms and growth with field, political,

executive, and member teams (i.e. legislative proposals, total compensation negotiations, and organizing

materials); cultivates local, regional and national allies; conducts research; develops strategy; writes papers;

advocates for policy positions; and provides training and support.

Fulbright Scholar – Council for International Exchange of Scholars 2007 – 2008 Proposed, secured funding, and facilitated my own project on international collaborations to empower a broader

range of Moroccan stakeholders on societal issues. Innovative strategies included Morocco ‐based NGO

development (i.e. expanded promotion and granting; initiated a novel funding model); international conference

development (i.e. expanded participation: 100+ presenters from 12+ countries); and a mentoring and collaboration

effort targeting especially graduate students, theatre artists, women, and non ‐USA faculty.

Student Affairs Judicial Associate – University of Massachusetts ‐ Amherst 2001 – 2004 Representing the Dean of Students, managed the University Hearing Board and other related tasks for three years.

Provided advice and counseling for students in crisis ‐ personal, educational, and disciplinary; promoted social

justice and personal accountability; provided organizational leadership in training, recruiting, and daily operations;

worked with diverse and international constituencies; and served on committees on and off campus.

Instructor – University of Massachusetts ‐ Amherst 2000 – 2005

Developed and taught specialized undergraduate and graduate courses for five years. Featured international themes; innovative student ‐centered pedagogies; multimedia production and presentation (i.e. produced a film);

integrative technologies and strategies (i.e. web ‐based and visualization); experiential learning; discussion groups;

student ‐led programs; and individualized tutorials and mentoring.
