*%is t%esis tac+les t%e problem of data conversion in t%e Residue Number System RNS-'
*%e RNS %as been considered as an interesting t%eoretical topic for researc%ers in recent years'
.ts importance stems from t%e absence of carry propagation bet/een its arit%metic units' *%is
facilitates t%e reali0ation of %ig%1speed, lo/1po/er arit%metic' *%is advantage is of paramount
importance in embedded processors, especially t%ose found in portable devices, for /%ic%
po/er consumption is t%e most critical aspect of t%e design' 2o/ever, t%e over%ead introduced
by t%e data conversion circuits discourages t%e use of RNS at t%e applications' .n t%is t%esis, /e
aim at developing efficient sc%emes for t%e conversion from t%e conventional representation to
t%e RNS representation and vice versa' *%e conventional representation can be in t%e form of an
analog continuous1time signal or a digital signal represented in binary format' 3e present some
of t%e currently available algorit%ms and sc%emes of conversion /%en t%e signal is in binary
representation' $s a contribution to t%is field of researc%, /e propose t%ree different sc%emes
for direct conversion /%en interaction /it% t%e real analog /orld is reuired' 3e first develop
t/o efficient sc%emes for direct analog1to1residue conversion' $not%er efficient sc%eme for
direct residue1to1analog conversion is also proposed' *%e performance and t%e efficiency of
t%eses converters are demonstrated and analy0ed' *%e proposed sc%emes are aimed to
encourage t%e utili0ation of RNS in various real1time and practical applications in t%e future'

Cette t%5ese aborde le probl6me de la conversion de donn7es dans le syst6me num7riue de
r7sidus Residue Number System1 RNS-' 8e syst6me RNS a 7t7 consid7r7 comme un su9et
int7ressant par de nombreu: c%erc%eurs ces derni6res ann7es' Son importance d7coule de
l;absence de la propagation de retenue entre ses unit7s de calcul' Ceci facilite la r7alisation de
circuits arit%m7tiues < grande vitesse et de faible puissance' Cet avantage est d;une importance
primordiale dans les processeurs embaru7s, en particulier ceu: u;on retrouve dans les
appareils portables, pour lesuels la consummation d;7nergie est l;aspect le plus critiue de la
conception' Cependant, le traitement suppl7mentaire introduit par les circuits de conversion de
donn7es d7courage l;utilisation du RNS au niveau des applications' Dans cette t%6se, nous
c%erc%ons des sc%7mes efficaces pour la conversion de la repr7sentation conventionnelle < la
repr7sentation RNS et vice1versa' 8a repr7sentation conventionnelle peut =tre sous la forme d;un
signal analogiue en temps continu o> d;un signal 7c%antillonn7 num7riue repr7sent7 en format
binaire' Nous pr7sentons uelues algorit%mes actuellement disponibles et les syst6mes de
conversion associ7s lorsue le signal est sous une repr7sentation binaire' Dans notre
contribution < ce domaine de rec%erc%e, nous proposons trois astuces diff7rentes pour la
conversion lorsu?une interaction avec le monde analogiue r7el est n7cessaire' Nous
d7velopons deu: syst6mes efficaces pour la conversion directe du domaine analogiue < RNS'
Un autre syst6me efficace pour la conversion directe de RNS < analogiue est 7galement
propos7' 8a performance et l;efficacit7 de ces convertisseurs sont mises en 7vidence et
analys7es' 8es sc%7mas propos7s sont destin7s < encourager l;utilisation du RNS dans diverses
applications dans l;avenir'
