The Titanic
The RMS Titanic was an Olympic- class passenger liner owned by the “White Star Line” and built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast United Kingdom. In that time she was the largest passenger steamship in the world.
The Sinking
On April 14 1912 during the night Titanic hit an iceberg. Around 2:10 am the steam rose out of the water exposing the propellers, and by 2:17 the waterline had reached the boat deck. The last two lifeboats floated of the deck and shortly later the forward funnel collapsed, crushing part of the bridge and people in the water.
Final Moments
People on deck were scrambling towards the stern or jumping overboard in hopes of catching a lifeboat. The ship’s stern slowly rose in the air, and everything unsecured crashed down into the water. Shortly afterwards, the stress on the hull caused the Titanic to break apart .

It sank two hours and forty minutes later on April 15. 1912.1,517 people died that night making it one of the most deadly disasters in history

Rescued by the Carpathia
Another sea liner, called the Carpathia , came and rescued the survivors but the ship that the Titanic had called came two hours after the Sinking. The Captain of the Titanic stayed on and refused three lifeboats.
