    1 Summary

    1.1 Purpose

    The purpose of this document is to introduce the function of the RK3188 SDK ,

    help use to better, faster and accurate apply RK3188 SDK, master RK3188

    chip solution.

    1.2 Scope of application

    This SDK is fully functional and can be used for both inside and outside the

    company's engineers. Hardware and software engineers can be used to

    functionally debug; testers can be used for performance under a variety of

    environmental testing, and driver software stability testing; customer engineers

    can be used as the Demo, used for debugging and functional verification.

    1.3 Outline

    RK3188 is a low power, high performance processor for mobile phones, personal mobile internet

    device and other digital multimedia applications, and integrates quad-core Cortex-A9 with

    separately NEONand FPU coprocessor.

    Many embedded powerful hardware engines provide optimized performance for high-end

    application. RK3188 supports almost full-format video decoder by 1080p@60fps, also support

    H.264/MVC/VP8 encoder by 1080p@30fps,high-quality JPEG encoder/decoder, special image

    preprocessor and postprocessor.

    Embedded 3D GPU makes RK3188 completely compatible with OpenGL ES2.0 and 1.1,

    OpenVG 1.1. Special 2D hardware engine with MMU will maximize display performance and

    provide very smoothly operation.

    The SDKto help engineerscompletetheRK3188chipsolution debugging and testing, taking into

    account thedifferentenvironments, andfullfunctional verification, completea variety of

    interfaces, andrelativelycomplex.

    2 System Diagram

    System block diagram allows an intuitive understanding of the structure and principle of the

    whole system. System power is provided by the 12V \ 2A adapter , through the serial port

    UART interface to debug and verify the functional modules,SDK verification for the full

    featured solution ,with a HDMI output, YPbPr \ CVBS output, SPDIF output, the ISDB \

    DVB-T module, WIFI + BT module, Ethernet interface and HUB, SD card, infrared receiver

    IR, usb to SATA hard disk, But also through the extended interface to extend VGA output,

    MHL output and BT voice function,and so on .To meet different application requirements,

    and very conducive to chip solution in-depth R & D and rapid commercialization .

    3.2 CORE

    RK3188+DDR3(4*512M,8bit,2GB)+FLASH(4G), flash upgrade have two

    buttons are flash updata and emmc updata. Selection emmc need additional

    board.

    Small infrared receiver, universal XX38 series, the center frequency of 38KHz,

    the operating voltage :2.7-5 .0 V, receiver within a distance of 5 meters.

    3.5 SATA inerface

    USB to SATA chip JM20329E, SATA interface can be connected to the 3.5-inch

    hard disk power supply 12V and 5V, or 2.5-inch hard disk power supply 5V,

    supports up to 3T capacity. Toggle switch default USB HOST3, if you use SATA

    function, you need to position SATA position.

    3.6 WIFI BT FM module

    The SDK use a dual layout mode,can selecte SDIO WIFI module

    AP6330(wifi+bt+fm) or USB WIFI module 8188EUS. Toggle switch default RMII

    interface, if appropriated SDIO WIFI, Ethernet will not be used.

    Need to use RK supporting module board.

    Ov9650 module, 8bit sampling rate,5 million pixel camera with flash,1.8V,3.3V

    power supply.Toggle switch default is CIF (camera) function, TS stream can not

    be used. if appropriated TS position ,that TS stream can be used normally, but

    CIF function can not be used.

    interface,can easily connect to TV. Use the RK1000-S chip, 3-way 10bit video D\A

    conversion with the codec output,the amplifier chip selected DVR632PW dual

    operational amplifiers.

    3.14 SPDIF output

    Digital audio interface,transmission medium has two modes,coaxial and optical,

    the contents of transmission is a 16-24 bit(44.1-96k)serial data stream,the upper

    limit of bandwidth is about 2.5M.
