THE HIVEThe hive conentrates on the redesign of a large office campus (Southbank). The design focuses on the re-implementation of natural factors along The Salt River Channel. Natural water flow is imitated from above stream of The Salt Rivers, Saguaro Lake, to create drainage ways to the salt river and an existing retention basin as well as influence pedestrian ways. The site is revived by reducingparking and providing retail amenities for everyday use.

Breezeway The Design School, ASU
Overview:The Breezeway, located between The Design School north and South buildings tackle problem such as ADA access, lack of vegetation, drainage, comfort and lack of character to create a gateway to the ASU campus. As part of the ASU curriculum the several construction documents were produced to demonstrate knowledge of construction methods and varieties.
The design features an improved ramp and staircase to help allow for ADA access. In addition terrace’s are added to help create spaces for relaxation and gathering. Vegetation is utilized to help bring back life to this heavily used space on the ASU campus.N

Assignment: retrofit of a 1960’s era garden apartment complex in Phoenix will turn the site into a cohousing project for eight families/individuals/groups. The first step community is a cohousing focused on young families. A new community building is incorporated on the site to be used as a daycare for residents and the community as well as including meeting space for residents. A community playground with adult friendly equipment encourages parents to be active in their children’s lives and interact with their neighbors. A blend of private, semi private and community spaces are included to meet the residents needs.

The mission of the Sonoran Valley Open Space plan is to enhance development in the city of Goodyear while taking into consideration natural wildlife patterns and linkages. In collaboration with the City of Goodyear considers potential opportunities for 76 acres between the Sonoran Desert National Monument and The Estrella Mountains. Through analysis of several factors and current conditions of the site appropriate placement of a proposed highway, future development preservation area, and a community were located. In addition, amenities such as trail heads, educational centers and camping grounds were proposed to serve a potential community and the surrounding areas. The overall goal of the Masterplan connects the area to the rest of the City of Goodyear in the north.

As part of the Sonoran Valley Open Space Plan, Enlace would become an example community for the rest of Goodyear and the region which surrounds it. The focus of Enlace was to connect or “enlace” the community with the natural desert in which it is embeded. This would give residents easy access to open space and park as well as providing them with the necessities of every day life.Enlacebecomes a community with several neighborhoods providing different amenities ranging from schools to retail shopping experiences. In addition the community provides easy access for passers by and those who want to experience what this one of a kind neighborhood has to offer. Enlace takes into consideration the natural environment while providing all necessary amenities for a successful community

Distance Traveled Phoenix Pioneer and Military Memorial Cemetery
As an addition to the Phoenix Pioneer and Military Memorial Cemetery, distance travel takes into consideration the voyage taken by migrants and eventually settled in Arizona. Through collection of data and several analysis of the site, three main direction of travel were determined, The East The South and The west. With this, distance travel concentrates on paying tribute to those who traveled from afar and eventually settled in Arizona, to the creation of Phoenix. Three memorial walls allow visitors to experience the difficulty of the voyage to Phoenix, portraying the names. The word unknown is used as a reminder of the several who did not make it to their final destination and are unidentified within the current cemetery.
