A FEW WORDS FROM OUR DEVELOPER...

Home sales in the new sections are going very well. Riverwood is on track to have one of its best sales years ever. With the year winding down into the last quarter, the development company and the Homeowners Association are working hand in hand to polish up the neighborhood. We are just about done with a reseeding effort to reestablish grass on the shoulders throughout the neighborhood. Our long term goal is to have areas that are either well maintained or natural. This project will take a concerted effort over the next year or two to complete.

The Newcastle community already has 13 homes on the ground and like in our other neighborhoods, sales continue to be strong.

Hilton is the newest section of Riverwood Plantation and is in the planning stage. This neighborhood will be located at the end of Cavanaugh Way and Churchhill Lane. The anticipated price point of the homes will be $300,000 and up.

In the next six months the development company is planning additional walking trails to be added to the community further linking all of the neighborhoods. We are committed to continuing to make Riverwood a pedestrian community.

Dear Riverwood Residents,

If you have driven behind Greenbrier Middle School lately you may have noticed there was a big red trailer. This trailer is here for you to drop o your aluminum drink cans for recycling. The Southeastern Fireghters Burn Foundation collects them to help burn patients and their families with lodg-ing, anti-scarring garments, medication, and transportation. If you have a child attending Greenbrier Middle School we highly recommend you have them take cans in to their homeroom to earn points for a new recycling program called PepsiCo's Dream Machine Recycling Rally. Girl Scouts in Cadette Troop 20334 have helped spread this nation-wide program throughout the school as part of their work towards earning the Girl Scout Silver Award, the highest award they can earn at this level of scouting. Working with the 7th grade science teachers, Mrs. Weiksner and Ms. Perry, along with the support of the school principal, Mr. Fulmer, the girls have designed a school-wide contest to see which homeroom can bring in the most cans and plastic bottles. The homeroom with the highest points will win an end-of-

semester party. If the school earns enough points, and ranks high in the nation-wide contest, they will win money for use towards “green” improvements. Another organization that is helped by the donation of your aluminum cans is the Ronald McDonald House. They use money collected from recycling the pull tabs to fund maintenance projects for the houses and provide services to families in need. If you have a collection of these that you would like to contribute, you can drop them o at the front oce of the Middle School.

If you don't have a child that attends Greenbrier Middle School you can give your cans and bottles to a child you know attending the school. You can also bring your cans only to the red trailer behind the school. All other recyclable items may be taken to the Columbia County Recycling Center located on William Few Parkway.

We hope you will join us with this recycling project to help the Southeastern Fireghters Burn Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House, the neighborhood, and the world.

Sincerely, Cadette Troop 20334 Lauren Helling Tori Hockert Alyssa Jimenez

SIGNS, SIGNS, EVERYWHERE A SIGN

Many of our residents are aware of the Riverwood sign policy relative to real estate signage, but are less likely to consider the sign policy when it comes to

election signage. Riverwood Plantation requires uniform signage. Please limit the signage showing your support for your candidate or other local issue to one

standard 18 X 24 inch sign per residential lot.

Thank you for helping keep Riverwood beautiful.

“Quality You Can See”

LICENSED, INSURED & BONDED

Did You Know… Shingle roofs, over time, develop a black growth over the entire life of the shingle. The algae (Gloeacapsa magma) feed on organic filler materials such as limestone in asphalt shingles.

Left unattended, this creates shortened shingle life, increases electric bills because of the insulating factor of the algae and is just not attractive from the street. Our process involves a high volume and

very low pressure to apply professional quality detergents. No Pressure Washing Equipment is used in the process!!

Why Scoop the Poop?Besides being a nuisance, uncollected dog waste is a serious problem for our association. Next time you’re tempted to leave your dog’s droppings on the lawn, please remember

these facts:

1. The appearance and quality of the common areas are known to affect home sales—not just whether and for how

much they sell, but how quickly.

2. The more residents complain about dog waste, the more time

the manager must spend on enforcement rather than serving

the association.

3. Uncollected dog waste spreads disease and attracts rodents who feed on pet waste.

Your neighbors will appreciate you!
