Thanks to the teachers and the Education Assistants for all their work and congratulations to all the students for a top effort. Finally, thanks again to all the parents and family members who came along to the event. As we approach the end of term, we currently have a number of events that mark the end of the school calendar. Yesterday, our Year 6 students who are attending Rossmoyne SHS in 2019, visited the high school for their orientation day. I visited the event for a short time in the morning, listening to the Rossmoyne SHS Principal and executive staff members as they outlined the school and what parents could expect. I also observed a couple of groups of students as they moved around the school as part of the program. As the vast majority of our students go on to attend Rossmoyne SHS, there were large number of our students attending the day. I know they enjoyed what was an exciting day, learning a number of things about high school routines, subjects and expectations. Last night our Year 6 students, staff and their parents enjoyed the annual Year 6 Graduation Dinner/Dance at the Melville Civic Centre, making presentations, receiving certificates and also dancing the night away, displaying all the skills that they have learnt this term. Finally, the students enjoyed some pizza, before making their way home. Thank you so much to Mrs Hooper, Mr Cunnold, Mrs McCarroll, Ms Patterson and Mrs Annison for all their hard work leading up to the evening. Thank you also to all the parents who attended the evening and celebrated with their children. The Year 6 students will attend their Graduation assembly on Monday 10 th December. Please note that the final whole school assembly will be held on Friday 7 th December in the Covered Assembly Area, starting at 9.00am. We look forward to seeing a large number of parents at the event, where we can celebrate with and acknowledge the successful year for our students.

4 December 2018

It was fantastic to watch the Pre Primary students perform at our final junior assembly for

the year on Friday. Singing and speaking enthusiastically, our younger students excitedly

talked and sang about Christmas, finishing by wishing all of us a very Merry Christmas.

Thanks to the teachers and the Education Assistants for all their work and congratulations

to all the students for a top effort. Finally, thanks again to all the parents and family

members who came along to the event.

As we approach the end of term, we currently have a number of events that mark the end of

the school calendar. Yesterday, our Year 6 students who are attending Rossmoyne SHS in

2019, visited the high school for their orientation day. I visited the event for a short time in

the morning, listening to the Rossmoyne SHS Principal and executive staff members as

they outlined the school and what parents could expect. I also observed a couple of groups

of students as they moved around the school as part of the program. As the vast majority of

our students go on to attend Rossmoyne SHS, there were large number of our students

attending the day. I know they enjoyed what was an exciting day, learning a number of

things about high school routines, subjects and expectations.

Last night our Year 6 students, staff and their parents enjoyed the annual Year 6

Graduation Dinner/Dance at the Melville Civic Centre, making presentations, receiving

certificates and also dancing the night away, displaying all the skills that they have learnt

this term. Finally, the students enjoyed some pizza, before making their way home. Thank

you so much to Mrs Hooper, Mr Cunnold, Mrs McCarroll, Ms Patterson and Mrs Annison for

2018 Most Active Primary School Award Congratulations to all Riverton students who participated over the duration of the year in Interschool Sports. Riverton overnight took out 3rd place in the most active school award at Crown Astral Ballroom. It is a tremendous achievement that the school should be incredibly proud of. Important date 6th of December – Red ball tennis competition REDBALL TENNIS COMPETITION We are currently sitting at 62 students who are coming to participate and that means that any additional help from parents would be greatly appreciated. I have already had several parents contact me but still in need of 2 more parents if possible. Please contact me on [email protected] PLEASE BRING BACK YOUR PERMISSION SLIPS REDBALL TENNIS COMPETITION (HOPMAN CUP) This week training will be increased for those interested for the Hopman Cup tennis. We urge students that if they want to come that they need to attend trainings or notify Mrs London or Mr T that they can’t make it for obvious reasons. Students will be selected on participation and attendance then if there are still positions available others may get asked to play Trainings will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday lunch times. The Red ball competition is being held on the 6th of December. Thank you to the students in year 3 and 4, who participated in our first try outs for the Redball Tennis Tournament. I was a little bit disappointed to get 26 students to our first training session when 72 students put forward an expression of interest. Due to the high number of interest students we registered several different teams and will be looking for additional players to make it to the second session to make up the missing numbers Kane Tomasevich PE Specialist
