2008-2009/2009-2010
INTRODUCTION• At the begining of the school year, the 2 inspectors of
Arts and English presented us with the project entitled « Rivers of the World »with the agreement of our headteacher Mrs Relmy.
• It is an international project based in London in partnership with the British Council of all the different countries involved, the Thames Festival and HSBC. Over 2000 young people around the world studied common rivers themes.
• 2 schools were matched, one in London and one in another country. In those 2 schools, 2 class groups of 13 and 14 -year- old students worked on a common project linked to the theme of water, of rivers.
THE ORGANISATION OF THE WORK The first year (2008-2009)
• We worked with a class of 4° (3rd year in Junior High) on the River Seine and our partner in Newstead Wood School, worked on the Thames.
• The aim was to create an art work respecting some dimensions and on which the works of all the pupils would be shown. This art work was prepared in class and finalised in a 2-day workshop with the help of the 2 English artists. This board was then exhibited along the Thames during the Thames Festival in September 2009.
• The arts project was completed by 2 trips: one of the English girls in Paris in June 2009 and one of the French students in London early september 2009
THE ORGANISATION OF THE WORK The second year (2009-2010)
