Our Focus in 2017

• A strong, secure and accurate registry

• Enhancing RIR stability through good governance and accountability

• Pursuing efficiency through streamlined internal processes and automation

• Engaging with members, the RIPE community, governments and regulators

Strong, Secure, Accurate Registry

• IPv6 Milestone - Very first subsequent IPv6 allocation issued

• Assisted Registry Check (ARC) - Targeting “less active” members

- Has produced a high result in updated information

• Resource Transfers - Continues to constitute a high demand on resources

- Complex tickets with increased levels of scrutiny

Strong, Secure, Accurate Registry

• Hijacks and Investigations - Due diligence checks have prevented several high volume

unauthorised transfers

- Following an Executive Board decision, cases of confirmed fraud will be reported to the police

• Maintaining focus on accuracy of the Registry

• Continuously focusing on efficiency by improving self-service processes - However, a level of human interaction remains crucial

Resource Transfers

• All Internet number resources can be transferred within the RIPE NCC service region

• Inter-RIR transfers with APNIC and ARIN

• 2017-01, “Publish statistics on Intra-RIR Legacy Updates” - Requires the RIPE NCC to publish all changes to the

holdership of legacy resources in our existing transfer statistics

RIPE NCC Survey and Actions

• Great response to our 2016 survey - 4,300 people from over 100 countries responded

• Strong support for the current direction of the RIPE NCC and high levels of satisfaction - Awareness of certain RIPE NCC services remains an issue
