Ring Power Training
After completing the class the student will be able to:1. Create a folder and assign it a name 2. Demonstrate proper starting and stopping of a PC.3. The student can list and describe the function of the major PC components4. Demonstrate knowledge of keyboard and mouse operation by resizing a window,
opening a program, minimizing a window and using selected functions from the menu bar.
5. Demonstrate knowledge of computer information storage by creating a document, store it in a folder and retrieving it through use of Windows Explorer.
6. Demonstrate how to locate a file on a CD/DVD and copy it to a selected folder on the hard drive.
Computer Fundamentals
Course duration is 8 hours aday for 2 days
The class is a combination ofLecture and hands on.
Ring Power TrainingPowertrain Fundamentals
The class includes mainly lectureand some hands on.
Ring Power TrainingPowertrain Fundamentals
After completing the class the student will be able to:
1. Identify common anti-friction bearings, gears and gaskets.2. Explain the theory of how a power train works.3. Demonstrate an understanding of gears drives, planetary gears, countershaft gears, bevel and
pinion gears, and fluid drive4. Identify common couplers including the flywheel clutch, torque converter and torque divider and
explain the theory of how each one works.5. Identify the features of a selected torque converter.6. Describe various types of brakes, brake system components and the function of different braking
components.7. Demonstrate an understanding of undercarriage operation and wear.8. Understand the purpose and operation of final drives and identify the various types of final drives.9. Given a selected final drive that the student can correctly identify all components.10. Demonstrate an understanding of the components and the operation of various types of differentials.11. Identify the components and explain the operation of a differential steering system.

Ring Power Training
Hydraulic training includeslecture and hands on.
Hydraulic Fundamentals
Ring Power Training
Using the "variable orifice" training aid, explain and demonstratethe relationship of "pressure drop across an orifice" and flow.
Each student is given aschematic to build differenttypes of circuits.
Ring Power Training
After completing the class the student will be able to:
1. Understand and demonstrating the relationship of pressure, effective area and force ina hydraulic circuit.
2. Explain the function of internal components.3. Perform adjustments (per procedures in SIS) on a line relief valve and a main relief valve installed
in a machine. 4. Demonstrate correct safety procedures to be used while working on a hydraulic system.5. Identify and correct operating deficiencies caused by mis-adjusted or faulty relief valves.6. Using procedures in SIS, check implement cycle times and cylinder drift.7. Explain the function of internal components.8. Given a Caterpillar hydraulic schematic, trace oil flow and explain the operation of circuit components
using ISO symbols.
Course duration is 8 hoursa day for 4 day
Ring Power Training
Electrical Fundamental training includes theory, and hands on training.
Electrical Fundamentals
Ring Power Training
Each student will use an electrical schematic, so theycan build a circuit, in order to test and trouble shootelectrical problems.
Ring Power Training
For the practical exercises, each training aidhas all of the components needed toassemble and test for each project..
Ring Power Training
At the completion of this course the student will have:1. Working knowledge of basic electrical theory, components and basic electrical systems.2. Explain the relationship between electrical voltage, current, resistance, and power using
Ohm’s law. 3. Perform electrical measurements using a digital multi-meter and solve basic electrical faults
with electrical training aids.4. Demonstrate an understanding of electrical circuit symbols by matching the name of
the symbol with the symbol graphic5. Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret schematic information such as identifying
electrical components and their locations and part numbers.
Course duration is 8 hours a day for 3 days.
Ring Power Training
Basic Engine Fundamentals includes lecture, theory, structure, function, and hands on for basic diesel engine components.
Basic Engine Fundamentals
Ring Power TrainingSeveral Caterpillar engines will be presentedduring the course.
Ring Power Training
After completing this course a student will:1) Understand combustion concepts2) Understand the four stroke cycle process3) Recognize major Caterpillar diesel engine components and systems, and be able to explain their
function, including; ( block - cylinder head - gear train - intake/exhaust - cooling - lubrication - fuel )4) Understand basic properties and associated terms for; (diesel fuel - engine oil - coolant)5) Understand the basic concept of the Caterpillar scroll fuel system6) Be aware of the Caterpillar injection system evolution; (pump&line - MUI - EUI - HEUI)7) Know where to look for various related information regarding engine troubleshooting and repair8) Be introduced to contamination control issues
Course Duration is 8 hours for 2 days
