This manual contains detailed instructions on the operation and maintenance of this machine. To getmaximum versatility from this machine all operators should carefully read and follow the instructions inthis manual. Please keep this manual in a handy place near the machine.Please read the Safety Information before using this machine. It contains important information relatedto USER SAFETY and PREVENTING EQUIPMENT PROBLEMS.

RRRRWarning:

Only connect the machine to the power source described onthe inside front cover of this manual. Avoid multi-wiring. Do not damage, break or make any modifications to the pow-

er cord. Do not place heavy objects on it, pull it hard or bendit more than necessary. These actions could cause an elec-tric shock or fire.

Do not plug or unplug the power cord with your hands wet.Otherwise, an electric shock might occur.

Make sure the wall outlet is near the machine and freely ac-cessible so that in event of an emergency it can be un-plugged easily.

Do not remove any covers or screws other than those spec-ified in this manual. Some parts of the machine are at a highvoltage and could give you an electric shock. When the ma-chine needs to be checked, adjusted, or repaired, contactyour service representative.

Do not take apart or attempt any modifications to this ma-chine. There is a risk of fire, electric shock, explosion or lossof sight.

If the machine looks damaged or breaks down, smoke iscoming out, there is a strange smell or anything looks un-usual, immediately turn off the main switch then unplug thepower cord from the wall. Do not continue using the ma-chine in this condition. Contact your service representative.

If metal, liquid or foreign matter falls into the machine, turnoff the main switch and unplug the main power cord. Con-tact your service representative. Do not keep using the ma-chine with a fault or defect.

Do not put any metal objects or containers holding water(e.g. vases, flowerpots, glasses) on the machine. If the con-tents fall inside the machine, a fire or electric shock couldoccur.

Keep the machine away from humidity and dust. A fire or an elec-tric shock might occur.iii

Do not place the machine on an unstable or tilted surface. If it top-ples over, it could cause injury.

After you move the machine, fix it with the caster fixture. Other-wise, the machine might move or come down to cause a personalinjury.

When you move the machine, unplug the power cord from thewall outlet to avoid fire or electric shock.

When the machine will not be used for a long time, unplug thepower cord.

When you pull out the plug from the socket, grip the plug to avoiddamaging the cord and causing fire or electric shock.

If you use the machine in a confined space, make sure there is acontinuous air turnover.

Do not reuse stapled paper. Do not use aluminum foil, carbon-containing paper or other conductive paper. Otherwise, a firemight occur.

This machine has been tested for safety using this supplier'sparts and consumables. We recommend you only use thesespecified supplies.

This equipment is only to be installed by a qualified service per-sonnel.

Deliver to collection point for waste products. Do not be disposedof via domestic refuse collection.

If ink comes into contact with your eyes, rinse immediately in run-ning water. In the case of any abnormal symptoms, consult adoctor.

Keep the ink or ink container out of reach of children. If ink is ingested, force vomiting by drinking a strong saline solu-tion and consult a doctor immediately.

Be careful not to cut yourself on any sharp edges when you reachinside the machine to remove misfed sheets of paper or masters.

While printing, do not touch the belt at the end of the paper deliv-ery tray or the job separator. You might be injured.

When your machine is equipped with the PC controller option: Do not place this equipment on an unstable or tilted surface. If

you do, it could fall. Do not place heavy objects on top of this equipment. They

might cause the equipment to become unstable and toppleover.

When your machine is equipped with the PC controller option: If by any chance this equipment falls over or a breakage oc-

curs (e.g., the cover), turn off the main switch of this equip-ment, unplug the power cable and contact your servicerepresentative. If you continue to use the equipment in thisstate it could result in fire or electric shock.
