PRINCIPALS REPORTEvery day I like to take a walk around the school, just tokeep in touch with the everyday things that are happeningaround the school. Over the past weeks students have beenproducing television programs in our new studio, conducted abusiness meeting with a community group, refined maths skillson iPads, participated in a Virtual Excursion using the schoolVR kits, collaborated with high school students on leadership, designed models using 3D printers for visual arts and studiedlocal environments in our Bush Tucker garden. Education hascertainly changed since I was a child! This term, we haveenjoyed some wonderful successes – including studentsattending State level and National sports competitions, Stg2 students progressing through to the Top 5 in the NationalSTEM Game Maker challenge and our Tournament of theMinds Team progressing through to the State finals in Sydney. Our students continue to impress and achieve above andbeyond what even they thought they could do. We are verylucky to have such a dedicated group of teachers and a verysupportive community supporting them every step of the way.
It is fitting that we conclude the term on a ‘high’ with ourfirst ever Colour Explosion run. My sincere thanks to our verydedicated P&C who have worked very hard to make this eventhappen. I am looking forward to a wonderful day. Thanks alsoto all the students who have participated in fundraising for thisevent. I look forward to seeing how much we have raised!

After many tries…. SUCCESS!
YARRAMUNDI STAGE 2 CAMPLast week we went to camp at Lutanda Yarramundi. Some ofthe activities we did were abseiling, orienteering, crate stacking, rock climbing and the flying fox. On the first day it was rainingbut that didn’t stop us. We started off by making an eggcapsule. Then we put our raincoats and hats on and wentoutside. During the night we played spotlight and watched TheLorax. My favourite part was the flying fox. It was fun andI landed it! I challenged myself by doing abseiling. A goal Iachieved was staying there the night. I am very proud of myselffor sleeping at my first overnight camp.

A week ago we went to Lutanda for camp it was really fun! When we went outside for outdoor activities we did abseilingfirst, even though it was raining. Some other activities we didwere orienteering, crate stacking, rock climbing and the flyingfox. First for the indoor activities we did rock paper scissors.Second for indoor activities we did an egg capsule. Our eggcapsule’s name is the “Surfing Egg Burrito” because it lookedlike a burrito. Our egg didn’t crack because it was safe in thecapsule. The last activity that we did was the flying fox. We wentreally far and we all had sandy bottoms after we landed it. Whenwe arrived on day one we watched a movie till everyone arrived. At the end of day one we played spotlight outside and watchedThe Lorax. Kayden did some different activities with his friends,Mrs Hughes and Mrs Lai. He picked some friends to do Archerywith and he also went canoeing with Amanda. A funny thingthat happened was when Mr Palladino went on the flying fox.He promised he would go on it if Tiarna and Luca went on. Itwas really funny. I found abseiling at nine metres in the rain quitechallenging. But I was proud of myself for doing it! My friendsand I had a great time and I wish I could go back there again.
