Meeting Minutes April 4, 2016 Secretary - Last months Minutes were approved. Time to make sure you re-up your AMA and Club dues. Treasurer- Club is solvent. Mowing contractors are being reviewed and a decision will be made by next meeting. General - A reminder, followed by a discussion, re- garding the need to register with the FAA and place your FAA registration number on each of your planes (over the ½ pound limit). AMA is writing rules for the size of the FAA number, how it should be displayed, and how the number will not impact scoring during scale competi- tion. The Porta-Potty will be back in service mid- April. First Student Night will be May 4, 2016, weather permitting Tentative date for the warbirds fly-in was stet for the 2 nd weekend in July (July 9- 0) Model of The Month There was no model of the month. 50/50 Raffle There was no 50/50 Raffle as Doc was ill, and couldnt make it. Matt Editors Notes Mother nature granted us fine weather for the two weekends in mid April, just perfect for flying. However, youd be hard pressed to find two weekends more disastrous to Ribcracker pilots. There were at least four or five crash- es resulting in to- tal losses of air- planes, many hard landings resulting in torn up under- carriages, and oth- er damage, equip- ment failures that were safely land- ed, and two air- planes that tried to emulate the birds by landing in the trees. By now we all know that thats all part of the game, but lets all hope the rest of the season will be a little less excit- ing. I noticed that there were very few airplanes out there that were displaying their FAA Registration numbers. Lets face it people, it is now the law. All airplanes over a half pound must have their registrations displayed. Its just that simple. If you are going to fly, you must have an FAA number. We can all see it coming, some-body coming over to tell you that since you have no number on our plane, you can’t fly here at Ray Field, and that can only create a whole lot of hate and discontent. The consequences though, of ignoring the rule, for the club, and for the individual flier could be very bad indeed. So please get your numbers on your aircraft, and help us avoid any ugly situations.

Matt’s Variant

John.

I know you got a photo of the Variant before it met its demise ... I've attached a

photo of the aftermath. Remind folks to always check their batteries before each

flight - especially early in the season.
