Taking care of these motion clocks is not as difficult as some more traditional cuckoo clocks or grandfather clocks because of the sealed system that Rhythm Clocks operate on. This sealed system is made and manufactured in Japan and you know they make good stuff when it comes to electronics.

To maintain the natural luster of the wood finish use a light polish only applied on an as needed basis just like your other pieces of fine wood furniture. Also, the glass on the front of the clock can be cleaned with a dusting cloth, or paper towel and windex. Most of the general day to day care is dusting.

Around here at the shop, we use a plain paper towel to wipe the finger smudges or dust of the face of the clock, that way we are not exposing the floor models to extended chemicals day in and day out.

In terms of battery life, the clocks generally get around 18 to 24 months per D battery replacement. However, so you never miss a day of enjoyment we always recommend to change the batteries on the date of the anniversary when you bought the clock. That way it is easier to remember. On the back of the clock, there are two plastic covers which go over the batteries. Just lift these off, and replace with new batteries. Itis that easy! No screwing, tools, or any other assembly required.
