Introduction
1 Introduction
This document describes the Radio Frequency (RF) cables between thefollowing units: Combining and Distribution Unit (CDU), Configuration andSwitching Unit (CXU), Double Transceiver Unit (dTRU), Hybrid Combiner Units(HCU), and Antenna Sharing Unit (ASU).For non-RF cable connections, see the document Non-RF Connections.
Instructions for connecting RF cables are in document Hardware MaintenanceInstructions.
1.1 Customer Documentation AccessThis document is supplied with RBSs from Ericsson Node Production Centres. It is also included in the RBS Customer Production Information (CPI).To gain access to the latest CPI version of this document, contact the KeyAccount Manager (KAM) at your local Ericsson company.
1.2 Unused RF Port TerminationsAll unused RF ports must be either fitted with plastic protective sleeves orterminated with 50 terminators
All unused RF output ports on the CXUs must be terminated with 50 terminators. All unused RF input ports not in use (for example, transmitterports) on the RUs must be fitted with plastic protective sleeves. Both theterminators and protective sleeves are supplied with the CXU.
RF output ports under a CDU dummy must be fitted with plastic protectivesleeves only.
For detailed information, see Table 1 on page 2.

Introduction
Note: The table above shows the maximum number of terminators (orminimum configuration). Connectors that are occupied by cables haveno terminators.
Unused CDU connectors on the CXU are fitted with protective sleeves, not terminators.
1.3 dTRU Versions in Hybrid Combiner ConfigurationsWhen the dTRU is used in hybrid combiner configurations, the TX1+TX2 outputis connected to the CDU TX input.
The old version of dTRU, dTRU type A, is in such configurations completedwith two jumpers, see table below.Table 2
Jumper Kit TX Connector HC ConnectorTX1 HC1RPM 513 1782/00070TX2 HC2
The new version of dTRU, dTRU type B, is never equipped with jumpers. Inthis dTRU, the combining is automatically performed with internal relays.
Figure 2 dTRU Type A and Type B
The figures in the following sections of this document show only one genericwiring arrangement for both old and new dTRUs.
