ADVANTAGES - Used for hundreds of industrial and art-

related applications, urethane rubbers are the easiest to use of all

mold rubbers. They can be poured, brushed on or sprayed onto

most prepared surfaces and cure with negligible shrinkage. They

are economical, reproduce exceptional detail and are best suited for

production casting of concrete, gypsum and wax.

Available in Shore hardnesses of 10A - 95A.

DISADVANTAGES - Urethane rubbers

are adhesive and, without proper surface

preparation (sealer and release agent), will

bond to many surfaces. Urethanes are also

moisture sensitive, meaning that relatively dry

environments are necessary for mold making

success.

Most Products Are Available in Trial, Gallon, 5-Gallon and Drum Units.

ADVANTAGES - Silicones offer advantages for

many applications that no other mold rubber can match. Silicone

will not stick to most surfaces, so surface preparation is minimal.

They can be poured, brushed-on, applied by hand or sprayed.

Silicones offer good chemical and heat resistance, making them

the best choice for production casting of chemically harsh resins

or castable metals. Some can be applied directly to the skin.

Available in Shore hardnesses of 0010A - 50A, silicone rubber is

used for making molds, creating special effects, orthotic/ortho-

pedic applications and much

DISADVANTAGES - Silicones (especially plat-

inum-cure) are expensive. Most silicones require

precise measurement (gram scale) and vacuum

degassing before pouring. Silicones are more eas-

iliy inhibited by surface contaminates vs. other

rubbers. Tin-cure silicones are not archival vs.

other rubbers.

Most Products Are Available in Trial, Gallon, 5-Gallon and Drum Units.

ADVANTAGES - Urethane plastics offer the user

tremendous versatility and economy. They are easy to

use and are available as rigids or semi-rigids. You can

add different colors and/or fillers for an infinite variety of

mind-blowing effects. Perfect for creating special effects

and making models, toys, props, industrial parts, etc.

DISADVANTAGES - Urethanes are higher in price

than polyester resin (but without the health issues).

Urethanes are also moisture sensitive, so reasonably dry

environments are necessary to minimize contamination.

Some urethane plastics may not be compatible with

some silicone rubber products.

Most Products Are Available in Trial, Gallon, 5-Gallon and Drum Units.

Many applications call for materials with higher physical and performance properties. TASK Plastics are a step

up from the Smooth-Cast line of general purpose plastics. Do you need higher heat distortion temperatures, strength in

ultra-thin sections, high impact or abrasion resistance or better resistance to moisture? TASK Plastics were developed

with these applications in mind, and more. There are several TASK Plastics to choose from, and each is easy to use

(convenient mix ratio and low viscosity). Ask your Reynolds rep. which TASK Plastic is right for your project.

Flexible & Rigid Urethane Foam OverviewFlexible & Rigid Urethane Foam OverviewUrethane foams are mixed 1A:1B by volume, can be poured into a mold or over any surface and cure quickly.

The density of the foam will determine how much it expands; the lower the number, the more it will expand.

Rigid foams can be used to make lightweight castings, create special effects or provide lightweight

reinforcement to resins and other materials. Flexible foams are available in different hardnesses (pillow-like

to stiff) and are used for cushioning, casting, creating special effects and many other applications. Foams can

be pigmented for a variety of color effects.

EZ Spray Junior EZ Spray Junior is a versatile and convenient spray system for spraying rubbers, plasticsor foam. It is inexpensive and simple to use; if you have a compressor, you can spray any ofthese materials:

SSpraying Rubberpraying Rubber, Plastic & Foam, Plastic & Foam

1. Spray urethane or silicone rubber to make

incredibly detailed production molds that can be

used to cast concrete, plaster, wax, resins, etc.

• Alja-Safe™ available in 3-lb. boxes and 20-lb. pails

• Body Double™ available in trial sizes, cartridges, gallon units and 5-gallon units

Here are the latest technologies in “apply-to-the-skin” mold making materials. Both are “skin safe” and

reproduce incredible detail. Alja-Safe™ is the world’s first alginate that does not contain free crystalline silica (a known

carcinogen). Mixed 1part water to 1 part Alja-Safe™ by volume, working time can be varied by altering water tempera-

ture. Molds can be used to cast plaster, Matrix NEO, Dragon Skin silicone rubber or Smooth-Cast 300Q fast plastic to

make a reproduction. Alja-Safe is economical, but molds are good for one casting only.

Body Double™ silicone rubber is easy to use (1A:1B by volume) and can be brushed directly onto the skin to make fast

molds of faces, hands and any body part. Molds are durable and will last to make many reproductions. You can cast

just about anything into Body Double including resins, wax, plaster, concrete, etc. Two speeds of Body Double are

available and “Starter Kits” come complete with everything you need to start making molds from life now.

duoMatrix™ NEO™: No Scale? No problem! . . .

and UL Flame Rated! A new, easy-to-use version of Matrix™-G,

NEO's dry components (PART A) are “pre-measured” for easy

measuring and mixing with PART B – latex liquid. Easy two-to-one

by volume mix ratio means no scale is required. NEO™ can be

used to make lightweight pieces that are very strong and

water-resistant. NEO™ is also flame resistant (has passed

UL-94 Flame Test and is Flame Rated).

NSP (Non Sulphur Plasteline) - contains no sulphur filler that causes cure inhibition

with various liquid rubber mold making materials. The NSP line consists of clays that contain

higher percentage of wax components making the clays somewhat “tuffer.” Available in Soft,

Medium or Hard, these clays have good adhesive qualities, flexibility and length. Because they

are “tuffer,” NSP tend to accept cut detail lines very cleanly, with no ragged edges.

Le Beau Touché and Le Beau Touché-HM are two distinctive products with some very similar characteristics. Both are

sulphur-free clays that have exceptional smoothness and adhesive qualities. Both hold very good detail and carve and

shape easily. They have tremendous flexibility and will not dry or crack. The original Le Beau Touché is very sensitive to

heat, while the HM remains stable at higher temperatures.

Y2-Klay is an industrial design clay that is lightweight and sulphur-free. It is excellent for milling (clay fragments do not

stick to milling bits) and is resistant to shrinking and cracking.

AAvesves® Apoxie SculptApoxie Sculpt

Apoxie Sculpt is a self-hardening

synthetic clay that combines the

features and benefits of clay with

those of epoxies.

Apoxie Sculpt is self-hardening with a

3-hour working time and 24-hour cure.

It has 0% shrinkage and strongly

adheres to most clean surfaces. Fully

machineable Apoxie Sculpt is non-

toxic and available in 10 colors plus

two metals.

VVictory Brown Wictory Brown Waxax

This wax is less crystalline than

paraffin wax, although it is a micro-

crystalline petroleum-based wax.

Victory Brown remains flexible at low

temperatures and may be used as an

adhesive, in investment castings, and

blended in for candle making.

Easily molded by hand, Victory

Brown may also be used as a

sculpture wax.

Klean KlayKlean Klay®

Kleen Klay is a

non-drying, non-

hardening, non-

sulphur modeling

clay for a variety

of applications. It remains pliable at

room temperature and is non-toxic,

sanitary and odorless. Kleen Klay

is easy to handle and work with--

keeps its smooth, firm consistency

while retaining the shape into which

it is molded.

ULTRACAL® 30 Gypsum Cement

Super-strength gypsum cement recommended where extreme accuracy and greater surface hardness are required, as in duplicator models. Harder

and stronger than HYDROCAL® A-11 and HYDROCAL® B-11 cements, ULTRACAL® 30 cement has the lowest expansion of any rapid-setting gyp-

sum cement available. Has a gradual set and long period of plasticity. Ideal for splash-casting molds and models for phenolic, polyester and epoxy

resins. It was designed to give the pattern making industry the ultimate in a gypsum cement-tooling medium.

HYDROCAL® FGR-95 Gypsum Cement

Hydrocal® FGR-95 Gypsum Cement is a specially formulated gypsum cement which sets fast, develops high strength, and permits fabrication of

strong, resilient glass-reinforced products. The superior fire retardant properties of Hydrocal® FGR-95 Gypsum Cement allow for safe, code-compliant

installation in all types of public and private structures.

GARDENCAST™ Gypsum Cement

Specially Designed for free-standing, solid cast outdoor statuary. Produces strong, hard casts that set rapidly and can be demolded in one hour after

set, resulting in increased productivity versus conventional cements. Also produces a uniform white color.

USG No. 1 Casting Plaster

The industry standard for figurines, plaques, and lamp bases. Special additives maintain smooth-working qualities and upon drying, result in a hard

working surface with reduced paint absorption and degree of chip-resistance.

HYDRO-STONE® Gypsum Cement

HYDRO-STONE is recommended for producing high-quality novelty and statuary castings requiring extremely hard surfaces. This product is

self-leveling when poured and not suitable for hollow cast applications. HYDRO-STONE must be mechanically mixed for best results.

HYDROCAL® White Gypsum Cement

A good general use product that offers a gradual setting time and a long period of plasticity. Recommended for solid and hollow casting of lamp bases

and figurines. Designed for thin sections which require high green strength to minimize breakage during removal from an intricate mold.

TUF-CAL™ Plaster

A special plaster blended with polymer and synthetic fibers. Ideal for larger items where a high strength-to-weight ratio is required. It provides better

chip resistance and impact strength in cast items than either White Art Plaster, No. 1 Casting Plaster, or HYDROCAL White Gypsum Cement.

Available in 20 and 30 minute set times.

USG® No. 1 Pottery Plaster

Highly uniform, USG No. 1 Pottery Plaster is noted for outstanding performance and long life. The standard of the industry, it is the best material

available for sanitary-ware and dinnerware slip casting.

DRYSTONE™ Casting Media

This unique product eliminates the need for expensive drying and provides an environmentally sound alternative to resin-based products.
