Revival Conducted By Rev. R.L. Crook Revival services will begin' March 23 at Spring Branch' Baptisi Church beginning at the II a.m. worship hour and will continue at 7:30 p.m. each night through Wednes day night. There will be nursery provided. There will also be special singing by the church choir and also the church quartet. The Evangelist will be the pastor, Rev. Raymond L. Crook who was born in Nortb Carolina. He is married to the for mer Jettie Carroll. There are three children in the family, . David, Connie and Jane . The Rev. Mr. Cook joined the ministry in 1964, an active pastor in 1965. He has been the pastor of chW'Cbe8 in Rutherford, Cleveland, Burke, and now in Sampson County. He attended Gardner-Webb College in Boilings Springs, is a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible I nst itu te in Hen- dersonville, and has done some study in the seminary extension . Rev. Crook and his family are members of the Florence Baptist Church.

He is an ordained deacon and i. now serving as super· intendent or the Young Peo·

A native of Polk County, . t.• hI' attended Greens Creek School. HI' moved to Ruther­ford County in 1944 and mar­ried the former Miss Jettie Carroll in 1948. They have three children, David, 15" Connie, 14, and Jane, 10.

Rev. Crook attended Gard­ner-Webb College last year and has enrolled in the Fruit­land Bapti~t Institute for the coming year. He has· been an employe of Spindale Mills lor the past five years.

Because of some work be­ing done on the church par­sonage, it will be a few wl'eks before Rev. Crook and his family will move there.

The ordination servicl' for Rev. Crook will be held at the Florence Baptist Church in Forest City on Aug. 22 at 3 p.m. It wiJI be conducted by his pastor, the Rev_ T. W. Estes.

his duties as pastor of the Polk· ville Baptist Church in Polkville Sunda~

He has served as pastor of the ~ountain View Baptist Church, Rutherfordton for the past three TCllrs. Durins this time there were several additions to the Chun:h membership by letter and 25 by Baptism.

A graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, he attended Gard. ner·Webb College. H1l is the son of Mrs. Myra Crook and the late Ralph Crook of Rutherfordton.

Mrs. Crook is the former Miss Jettie Carroll of Forest City. She taught a Sunday School class at Mountain View Baptist Church and was Young Woman's Auxil. iary Director of the church.

Their children are: David, 19 years of Ige, who graduated from R-S Central High in May and is a counselor at Southport Baptist Camp this summer. He will enter Pembroke College this fall.

Seventeen year old Connie is a rising senior and served as :..~. slstant pianist at M< View. She will be working at Clsewell By the Sea" this summer.

Jane is 13 and attended Oak· land school. She was a membel of the intermediate Girls Aux· iliary.
