What difference does it make?

Some things we say in Spanish require the use of the verb SER, and no other verb will do.

Physical Descriptions (can be of a person or a thing)

Personality Traits Yo soy inteligente. Juan es gracioso.

Relationships Yo soy la madre de Juan.

Religion Yo soy católico.
