SPECIAL SECOND COLLECTION
SUNDAY, SEPT. 17 Dear Faithful:
Bishop Elias has received from Most
Reverend Jose’ H. Gomez, Vice President of the
USCCB a request for a special collection to be
taken up at all Catholic Parishes throughout the
United States. This collection will assist
those in need in Houston, Texas. The destruction in Houston, TX is
tremendous and many are displaced and staying
in shelters. This includes parishioners of Our
Lady of the Cedars Church. Bishop Elias would
like to have all of our parishes take up a special
second collection at all liturgies especially for this
cause. If Our Lady of the Cedars Church is in
need of specific assistance some of the funds will
go directly to them and the other portion will be
sent directly to the USCCB.
Let us continue to pray for those affected
by this natural disaster along with all of the first
responders, and the many volunteers who are
assisting in the region.
~Fr. Toufic
