Stunning wood effect luxury vinyl tiles from UK manufacturer Polyflor were recently chosen for the refurbishment of The World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop at one of Birmingham’s largest leisure attractions, Cadbury World.

Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles in the American Oak wood effect design were installed by Alpha UK Ltd flooring contractors of Walsall in the gift shop at this family tourist attraction on Cadbury’s Bournville manufacturing site. This classic and subtle wood design perfectly complements Cadbury’s signature purple shade and the store’s big and bright display units which feature some of the chocolate manufacturer’s best known brands.

Tim Gimbert, Cadbury World Operations Manager comments, “We welcome over 600,000 visitors a year to Cadbury World, with The World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop being a popular attraction for those wanting to pick up a souvenir of their tour. Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles from leading vinyl flooring manufacturer Polyflor were chosen to create a unique design floor at The Balloon Tree Farmshop and Café in York recently.

Natural Brushed Oak and Silvered Driftwood luxury vinyl tiles from the Expona Design collection were installed by Elvington Floorcraft Ltd flooring contractors from York, with the grey-toned Silvered Driftwood shade creating a large circle in the middle of the shop floor.

With the concept for the store refurbishment developed by The Creative Suite of York, this simple yet effective floor design using contrasting wood effects helped to highlight the displays of local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, delicatessen, baked goods and gifts in this family run farm shop.

Owner of The Balloon Tree Farmshop Matthew Machin commented, “We’re delighted with the refurbishment and new floor design which has given our farmshop a modern refresh in time for our busy Christmas period.”

High design vinyl flooring from UK manufacturer Polyflor was chosen to create a modern look for gift and gadget retailer RED5 in their store at Princes Quay Shopping Centre in Hull recently. Tapping into the growing trend for concrete effect floorcoverings, Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles in Dark Concrete were installed throughout the shop floor area at this high street gadget shop by local flooring contractor The Hull Flooring Co Ltd. Developed for heavy commercial environments, the Expona Design range of luxury vinyl tiles features 28 stunning wood, stone and abstract effect designs, including a number of concrete options with surface embossing for added authenticity. Ideal for use in the retail sector where there are high levels of foot traffic, the hardwearing Expona Design collection has a 3mm gauge, 0.7mm wear layer and is also further enhanced with PUR, Polyflor’s exclusive and robust polyurethane reinforcement which is cross linked and UV cured to provide superior cleaning benefits. Luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s hardwearing and design-led Expona range were chosen by high street opticians Vision Express to create a fresh and contemporary look for its new store in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. Two stunning designs from the Expona Commercial PUR collection were chosen for the Vision Express store at Brookfield Retail Park and were installed by Floortec Ltd flooring contractors. A mix of wood and stone effect designs were used on the shop floor, with a large square of the Warm Grey Concrete design placed in the middle of the room, surrounded with the Grey Limed Oak wood effect shade. This grey oak design was also fitted throughout the eye testing suites at the back of the store.

Luxury vinyl tiles in contrasting colours and textures can be laid alongside each other like at this Vision Express store to create an eye-catching look, highlight sales displays, create zones and indicate walkways to guide customers around retail spaces. Ian Thomas, Store Development Manager at Vision Express commented:

that’s been achieved in our Cheshunt store thanks to

Polyflor’s Expona Flow and Polysafe Verona vinyl flooring was recently installed in the refurbished visitor centre at RSPB Bempton Cliffs nature reserve near Bridlington, East Yorkshire. Designed by East Yorkshire based Salt Architects, the new RSPB Bempton Cliffs visitor centre is busy with visitors coming to see the 200,000 seabirds who nest in the towering chalk cliffs every year. Around 240m2 of Expona Flow heavy commercial sheet vinyl flooring in Honey Beige was installed throughout the visitor centre’s exhibition area and gift shop by Paul Hood & Son flooring contractors of Hull. The Honey Beige design is from the Infinity collection in the Expona Flow range and was chosen to complement the surrounding coastal environment of Bempton Cliffs. Polysafe Verona PUR decorative, carborundum-free safety flooring in Cookie Cream was also installed in stairwells, corridors and bathroom areas to provide sustainable wet slip resistance. Keith Clarkson, Site Manager at RSPB Bempton Cliffs nature reserve commented, ,

“As this is one of the best locations in the UK to watch

seabirds we’ve had over 40,000 visitors since we

reopened the centre in April. We needed a floor that

was hardwearing and easy to clean yet beautiful to

Crowning Glorie Hair Salon Bristol, UK

Polyflor’s Expona Design range of luxury vinyl flooring tiles was used to create a bold black and white herringbone design, revitalising Crowning Glorie hair salon in Bristol recently.

Installed by local flooring contractor Bristol Flooring, the fitters used 46m2 of Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tiles to create this on trend statement floor. The contemporary chevron effect was created by using Expona Design flooring in the contrasting colours of Black Elm 6183 and White Oak 6185 to match the salon’s signature monochrome style.

Salon owner Lacia Pearce commented,

“I never knew a new floor within my salon would make

me so happy. It’s really lifted the salon and given

it a fresh look to set it apart from the other salons

popping up along North Street. I’ve had nothing but

great comments on how stylish and different the

floor looks! The quality of service I received from

both Bristol Flooring and the fitters was nothing but

A bold and dramatic flooring design from Polyflor’s Expona Commercial range of luxury vinyl tiles was chosen for the refurbishment of Vida Loca Tattoo studio in Bolton, Greater Manchester recently.

Vida Loca Tattoo in Bolton town centre includes a tattoo studio, hair salon, piercing studio and a coffee shop all under one roof. The owners chose the Dark Recycled Wood design from Expona Commercial PUR range to fit in with the studio’s contemporary style.

To give the look of a random patchwork of upcycled timber, the design includes tiles in three different widths and in various complementary shades creating the effect of a reclaimed wood floor, a look that is becoming increasingly popular.

Danny Watson, owner of Vida Loca Tattoo commented,

“We loved this eye catching design so much that we

used it all the way through the shop. It really makes our

store interior stand out next to other shops on the high

street and we’ve had many customers complement us

Polyflor’s SimpLay loose lay vinyl floor tiles helped add the finishing touches to a refurbished Vodafone store in Birmingham city centre recently. Suitable for retail and commercial environments, SimpLay tiles and planks have been developed for loose lay installation without the use of adhesive, so they can be fitted quickly with minimal downtime required. The SimpLay floor tiles were installed by flooring contractors AFB Flooring Solutions of Lancashire, for retail and commercial fit out specialists Audas Project Management who are refurbishing a number of Vodafone stores across the UK. The SimpLay collection of loose lay tiles features eight authentic wood planks designs, six natural stone tile effects and two weave pattern tiles. The Rich Walnut 2504 shade chosen for this Vodafone store perfectly complements the brand’s signature red and white colour scheme. With a 5mm gauge and 0.7mm wear layer, SimpLay loose lay tiles include a unique, non-skid honeycomb backing layer to ensure that the tiles stay in position and glass fibre reinforcement layer to enhance dimensional stability. Quick to install over many different types of floorcovering, individual SimpLay tiles can easily be replaced, relocated and reused, making them ideal for creating temporary installations and exhibition spaces. Martin Rowe, Project Manager at Audas commented,

A selection of Polyflor products have recently been installed within the new branch of luxurious fragrance, skincare and bathing product retailer; Bath House. Over 40m2 of Polyflor flooring was installed in the front of house by Treadwell Flooring of Cumbria, including Expona Commercial, XL PU and Classic Mystique PUR. This high-end retail project also features a central bespoke design courtesy of the Polyflor Design Team which is sure to attract attention. Through the use of Polyflor’s state-of-the-art waterjet cutting facilities, the vision of creating a strong and recognisable brand within the space is truly achieved with a combination of Polyflor’s XL PU and Classic Mystique PUR ranges.

Nigel Brooks, Company Director, comments;

“We needed a durable flooring in our store, one which

could confidently withstand daily footfall; Polyflor

was an obvious choice. Inspired by floors we had seen

in Parisian restaurants and bistros on a recent trip,

we employed the Polyflor Design Service to create

an extension of our logo within the floor design to

Founded in 1997, the Bath House make all of their products in Cumbria with “a simple aim to create the very best bathing and bodycare products, that are a joy to use and are ‘naturally good’ for the skin”; the ethos of which is reflected throughout the design of the store.

Installed in the new state-of-the-art 40,000sqft head quarters of fashion house SRG Apparel, Manchester; over 750m2 Polyflor products were specified by Jenkins Design of Bury, and installed by Bramhall Flooring, including Expona Control, Expona Design, 2000PUR, Polysafe Arena and Modena PUR. Senior Interior Designer Louise Grimes from Jenkins Design, comments;

“My clients brief was to provide staff with an

energetic working environment which would

encourage creative thinking. We decided to specify

Polyflor products as they offer fantastic on-trend

design, whilst at the same time providing the

necessary durability and safety.”

Within the entrance hall a contrast of Expona Control in Warm Grey Concrete and Polysafe Arena PUR in Brushed Titanium was chosen, creating zonal areas throughout the first floor. Developed for use in commercial areas which receive a high level of traffic, Expona Control is the first flooring product to marry the design benefits of traditional LVT with safety flooring. Being HSE Compliant it also achieves 36+ in the pendulum wet test and 20 microns of surface roughness, guaranteeing the sustainability of slip resistance for the life of the product.

Expona Design in Aged Indian Apple was selected for the feature showroom due to its strong directional contrasts and eye catching level of detail which complemented the overall design of this highlight space.
