Software Engineer - HCL Technologies, Chennai [Oct 2013 to Till]

Currently deployed in Cisco Offshore Development Center and working on CISCO’s cutting edge WAN

optimization product called WAAS.

Wide area application service provides Cisco Service Engine solutions to optimizing WAN traffic

between the branch and Data center by sending local response a caching. It will reduce the wan latency

to improve the performance.

Roles:

Contributed to the overall dev-test activities: Mainly Performance and System Testing , Test bed setup,

writing test plan from the Functional specification, Functionality Test, Regression, Interoperability

Testing, Stress testing, Automation, Filing and Verifying defects.

Plan Test cases for different software releases and execute them with the given timeline.

Identify the gaps in testing and write down new test cases to cover all customer scenarios.

Execute stress and load test to find reliability issues.

Work with development and testing Manager for requirement gathering.

Work on customer found defects and provide support to customer for work around.

Writing Test plans for new feature addition in the product with respect to system test

perspective and build test bed from scratch for testing.

Interact with technical leads and managers to identify customer scenarios and simulate the

same to identify potential bugs and cover corner cases.

Automate the frequently ran test cases using TCL.

Review the automated test cases with development team and use the same for regression

testing.

Mentor new comers and provide technical sessions.

Test the upgrade /downgrade scenarios in each release and check the Interoperability between

the different releases.

Make real or virtual test beds as per the test cases requirements.
