    Wood resources in tropical countries, especially Indonesia and Thailand, make it as a

    major commodity in development of the State. Manufacturing of various types of wood should

    have increasing the value of it in the world trade. Wood Product quality is highly dependent on

    the pre-process or how to treat the raw material before to machining. Start from the stage of

    determining the age of the wood, cutting, and drying wood are the main factor that determines

    the quality of the product later. In this case, the researchers conducted observations about wood

    drying in terms of using the compartment wood dry kiln. In kiln system there are parts that surely

    important to make the wood product as same as what producer wants with high efficient. Coil

    has a role to control the temperature in dry kiln by power electricity. When the electricity is turn

    on then the copper is become hot. To distribute the thermal that produced by coil, can be used the

    fan or called forced convection. Statue quo, industry has not take attention how to locating and

    designing the coil in the kiln. Shape, position, distance between coil, and material can

    influencing thermal distribution and air flow. Research about coil can improve the knowledge

    about effect of coil in dry kiln system and surely will increasing the energy efficiency. Air flow

    or thermal distribution cannot to see by human eyes, so in this research using Computational

    Fluid Dynamic by FloVent. With this software, can see the air flow and thermal distribution by

    visual and can be analyzed. Another hand, researcher will know all the parameters without

    manual equation. In this research will be known the best distance between coil.

    Basic Concept

    1. Coil Position

    First statement is vertical coil position better than horizontal coil position, because we can

    improve the amount of coil by height of top kiln. If we put the coil horizontally, we cannot

    improving because will influence the air flow, moreover the average length of wood and

    wall is 0,8 meter.

    2. Coil Amount

    First Statement is amount of coils will be effected the velocity and energy consume.

    Condition (a):

    -

    Temperature getting low, because length of conduction between coil to coil islong.

    - High Velocity, Drag Forced is low- Need High Energy in Coil (electricity)- No need much copper for coil
