CNI
Client – AT&T
Role – Test Specialist/Team member
Duration – 17/Nov/2012 – 15/Nov/2013
Team Size – 3
Project Description:
The Core Director Designer (CDD) is a Ciena tool for simulating various aspects of the Intelligent Optical Network. But limitations in the capabilities of CDD require that some planning and management functions be performed by auxiliary AT&T tools.
The purpose of the support tools (CNI) is to work with CDD to assist the capacity planning and management decision-making process. As such, it is important that the tools be able to interact with each other, to include data from a variety of sources, and to simulate many possible scenarios. These requirements can lead to a large number of user-adjustable parameters and may in some cases necessitate the manual preparation of input data.
There are four primary planning-support tools and a host of small utilities that are used by the primary tools. Most utility tools are used to implement functionality within the primary tools, but they can generally be used as stand-alone programs and may provide functionality useful during the manual manipulation and analysis of data.
The four primary CNI Capacity Planning Tools are:
• Steven Phillips’ Tool / SPT (including wrapper interfaces on the front and back end)
• CNI Wavelength Consumption Tool
• CNI Line Report Tool
• Bundle Management Tool

NGGNI
Client – AT&T
Role – Tester/Team member
Duration – 18/July/2011 – 31/Mar/2012
Team Size – 10
Project Description
NGGN-I (Next Generation Global Network – International), also known as USRP-A (Universal Service Request Platform – Access), is a web-based application that supports order processing of Non-US (also known as Most of world “MOW”) access orders by the IPC (In-Country Project Coordinator) or SDCOM (Service Delivery Communication Manager) users .
Order processed in NGGN-I is broadly classified as Stand-alone order and Flow-Through order.
The stand-alone ordering functionality in NGGN-I allows the users to directly create orders such as Access Circuit, POTS, ISDN lines, AT&T infrastructure equipments in NGGN-I and process them manually.
The Flow-through ordering functionality supports processing of the non-US AGN order request created in the interfacing applications (AFO-I, GIOM, GCSM and USRP-IPL) and sent to NGGN-I through the system interfaces.
The completed orders (both stand-alone and flow-through orders) are sent to the GAIM (Global Access Inventory Management) for invoicing (Billing).
