CHAPTER I. INTRODUCTION
Offshore platform is a huge structure with facilities to drilling, extracting,
and processing oil and natural gas. It also use to temporarily store product and
brought to shore for refining and marketing. Offshore platform has important role
for oil exploration in sea. Continous maintenance is required in order to keep safe
while doing exploratory.
One of the important thing to keep offshore platform safe is maintain its
position. GPS technology can be used for monitoring position with high precision
level. To obtain high precision with GPS measurement entail to reduce and omit
some source of error. Moreover, high precision of the offshore platform position
with GPS measurement can be obtained by using special treatment in example
Usually it depend on observation time and configuration of GPS station
network. Futhermore, use of scientific software and distribution of reference point
will affect to coordinate precision too. There is 3 type of reference point that can
be used as reference point on GPS processing namely global reference point,
regional reference point and local reference point. Each of these reference point
has different precision level. It mean that processing using difference reference
point will generate coordinates with difference level of precision.
Threfore, it is necessary to investigate the level of precision that can be
achieved from processing of the GPS data on offshore platform using regional and
global reference points. The aim of these Research are determining coordinates of
offshore platform using global and regional reference points and its precision,
calculate the significance of difference in coordinates that result from global and
regional reference points, determine velocity of offshore platform.
CHAPTER II. LITERATURE REVIEW
Langgeng (2009) conducted a research to obtain coordinates, speeds, and
precision of reference station on PT. Almega Geosystem tied to ITRF1997,
ITRF2000 dan ITRF2005 based on 7 continuous IGS stations (COCO, GUAM,
NTUS, DARW, KUNM, BAKO, KARR). The research also analyzed the result of
PT. Almega Geosystem’s reference station which tied to ITRF1997, ITRF2000
2
and ITRF2005. From the research result, it can be concluded that ITRF2005 is the
best frame used as reference point because generating smallest value of the
precision than the others. Value for component X is 2,22 mm; component Y is
5,31; and component Z is 1,39.
Yosafat (2009) conducted a research about the effect of increasing the
number of reference point that used on network adjustment to increase precision
of the coordinate. Enhancement of reference point shown to increase the precision
of the coordinates position. Precision of the coordinates (X and Y component)
will increase by 1 mm when using 4 reference points. Then increased by 1/10 mm
when using 7 reference points. After that, precision of the coordinates only
increase 1/100 mm when using 9 reference points. In Z component, precision of
the coordinates increased by 1/10 mm while using 4 reference points. Then
increased by 1/100 mm while the number of reference point is 9
Parluhutan (2008) conducted a study on the use of ITRF2000 as reference
frame on determining the position of base station (JAK1) using GPS multiple day.
Data were processed using GAMIT/GLOBK. The result shown that coordinates of
the position in ITRF 2000 drawn as follow : X (-1841950,15742 m±1,71 mm), Y
(6068331,37972 m±4,1 mm) and Z (-678670,06511 m±1,08 mm).
Kamaludin (2011) conducted a research about Monitoring position of
offshore platform (Pulai) using 29 global and regional reference points. Data Wet
processed using Bernese with Quasi Ionosphere Free (QIF) processing methods.
The result shown that the coordinates of offshore platform drawn as follow :
PUA1 (-1696188,052 m±0,4 mm; 6120082,785 m±1,0 mm; 588439,1228 m±0,5
mm), PUA2 (-1696204,419 m±0,8 mm; 6120087,049 m±0,4 mm; 588393,759
m±0,9 mm) dan PUA3 (-1696217,853 m±0,7 mm; 6120081,899 m±1,1 mm;
588409,170 m±0,3 mm).

and Quality Checking RINEX file.
III.3. Processing
1. Preparation.
The work carried out at this stage is the installation of the software which
used in processing data (Operating system installation, NetCDF installation,
GAMIT installation) and also develop strategy of GPS data processing. The
process is done by using 4 project which drawn as follow :
a. Global project. This project used 7 global reference points ((COCO
(Cocos Island), KUNM (Kunming, China), BAN2 (Bangalore), PIMO (Filipina),
4
DGAR (Diego Garcia Island), TOW2 (Townsville), DARW (Darwin)) and 3
observation stations ((PUA1 (Pulai A 1), PUA2 (Pulai A 2), PUA3 (Pulai A 3)).
b. Regional project. This project used 6 regional reference points from
MASS/MyRTK Malaysia ((GETI (Tanah Geting), KUAL (Kuala Terengganu),
CENE, BIN1 (Bintulu), MIRI (Miri), LAB1 (Labuan)) and 3 observation stations
((PUA1 (Pulai A 1), PUA2 (Pulai A 2), PUA3 (Pulai A 3)).
c. Combination project. This project used 6 regional reference points, 7
global reference points and 3 observation stations.
d. Perdoy project. This project used the same reference points that used
in combination project. But the processing on this project done by each doy.
2. Execution
Establish data input consist of L-file, Sittbl, Sites.default, Process.default,
Sestbl dan Station.info and directory linking. Then the project has been compiled
by otomatis bacth processing. Processing with GLRED and GLOBK had done by
command : glred <std out> <print file> <log file> <expt list> <command file>
and globk <std out> <print file> <log file> <expt list> <command file>.
CHAPTER IV. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
IV.1. Quality Checking Using TEQC
The result of data quality checking using TEQC done by looking at the
value of multipath moving average (MP1 and MP2). Multipath effects are good
when having value less than 0,5 m. From the result of quality checking shown that
average value of MP1 is 0.44 m and the mean value of the MP2 is 1.22 m.
IV.2. Baseline and its precision
Processing using GAMIT/GLOBK provide baseline information on the
length of baseline and its precision. Figure 1 describe the result of the baseline and
its precision.
5
Figure 1. Baseline precision graph
Figure 1 show that the precision tend to low when the baseline getting long.
However, There is also a high precision value in long baseline. This is associated
with the presence of outliers that occured at each station so Beach RINEX data
quality affect the precision of baseline.
IV.3. Global Project
Output of global project are :
1. Q-file contain all the information of data processing using GAMIT. Figure 2
is a graph of postfit nrms for global project.
Figure 2. Value of postfit nrms from global project processing
Figure 2 shows that loose nrms always smaller than constrained nrms. It
shows that there is no incorrect values of the orbital parameters and the
coordinates of the monitoring stations.
2. Coordinates observation station can be seen in table 1

Coordinates from processing of regional project (using regional reference
point) are as follows :
a. PUA1. X(-1696187,996 m ± 55,59 mm), Y(6120082,818 m ± 123,83
mm), Z(588439,2319 m ± 39,35 mm).
b. PUA2. X(-1696204,384 m ± 55,71 mm), Y(6120087,125 m ± 123,95

2. The use of global reference point generate a high level of precision when
compare with regional reference point, combination of reference points (global
and regional) and per-doy processing. Processing by using regional reference
point produces coordinates with low of precision when compared with global
reference point and combination of reference points.
3. The result of velocity processing showed that the value of speed position is
not valid because its value is smaller than the standard deviation. It was due to the
lack of observation data for determining the velocity.
4. The result of T-Test showed that there was no significant difference of the
coordinates which process from perdoy project, global-combination project, and
16
global-perdoy project. There are significant difference of the coordinates which
process from global-regional project, combination-regional project. In addition, t-
test result from global project and previous research (Kamaludin, 2011) showed
that there was no significant difference of the X-axis and Y-axis (PUA2 and
PUA3)
V.2. Suggest
The suggestions that can be given based on the process during the research are as
follows:
1. Continuous GPS measurements is required to monitor the movement of the
offshore platform.
2. Determination of IGS stations which used as reference point on data
processing must considered on the network and data availability.
3. Need further research on the effect of modifying processing data (length of
observation, sampling rate, GPS network array, and GAMIT input file setting) to
the level of precision that can be achieved.
4. Futher research is needed to investigate the effect of strength of figure from
the network for the level of coodinates precision that can be generated.

BAB I. PENDAHULUAN
2
regional dan titik ikat global dan menentukan kecepatan posisi anjungan minyak
lepas pantai.
BAB II. TINJAUAN PUSTAKA
Langgeng (2009) melakukan penelitian untuk memperoleh koordinat,
kecepatan maupun ketelitian hasil pendefinisian stasiun referensi PT. Almega
Geosystem yang diikatkan terhadap ITRF1997, ITRF2000 dan ITRF2005
berdasarkan 7 stasiun kontinyu IGS yaitu COCO, GUAM, NTUS, DARW,
KUNM, BAKO, KARR. Penelitian tersebut juga menganalisis hasil pendefinisian
koordinat stasiun referensi yang diikatkan pada ITRF1997, ITRF2000 dan
ITRF2005.
perangkat lunak GAMIT/GLOBK. Hasilnya adalah koordinat kartersi 3 dimensi
dalam ITRF2000 yaitu X = -1841950,15742 m; Y = 6068331,37972 m; Z = -
3
678670,06511 m dengan ketelitian dalam fraksi milimeter yaitu σx = 1,71 mm; σy
= 4,10 mm; σz = 1,08 mm.
(QIF) menghasilkan nilai koordinat PUA1 (-1696188,052 m; 6120082,785 m;
588439,1228 m), PUA2 (-1696204,419 m; 6120087,049 m; 588393,759 m) dan
PUA3 (-1696217,853 m; 6120081,899 m; 588409,170 m) dengan nilai simpangan
baku untuk PUA1 (0,4 mm; 1,0 mm; 0,5 mm), PUA2 (0,8 mm; 0,4 mm; 0,9 mm)
dan PUA3 (0,7 mm; 1,1 mm; 0,3 mm).

III.3. Pelaksanaan
1. Tahap Persiapan.
menyusun strategi pengolahan data pengamatan GPS. Pengolahan data
pengamatan dilakukan dengan menggunakan 4 project, yaitu :
a. Project Global.
global IGS yaitu : COCO (Cocos Island), KUNM (Kunming, China), BAN2
(Bangalore), PIMO (Filipina), DGAR (Diego Garcia Island), TOW2 (Townsville),
DARW (Darwin), dan 3 buah stasiun pengamatan PUA1 (Pulai A 1), PUA2
(Pulai A 2), PUA3 (Pulai A 3).
b. Project Regional. Project ini menggunakan 6 buah titik ikat dari
stasiun regional MASS/MyRTK Malaysia yaitu : GETI (Tanah Geting), KUAL
(Kuala Terengganu), CENE, BIN1 (Bintulu), MIRI (Miri), LAB1 (Labuan) dan 3
buah stasiun pengamatan PUA1 (Pulai A1), PUA2 (Pulai A2), PUA3 (Pulai A3).
c. Project Kombinasi. Project ini menggunakan 6 buah titik ikat dari
stasiun regional MASS/MyRTK Malaysia, 7 buah titik ikat dari stasiun global
IGS, dan 3 buah stasiun pengamatan.
5
d. Project Per-Doy.
perintah glred <std out> <print file> <log file> <expt list> <command file>
dan globk <std out> <print file> <log file> <expt list> <command file>.
BAB IV. HASIL DAN PEMBAHASAN
IV.1.
IV.2. Panjang Baseline dan Ketelitiannya
Pengolahan dengan menggunakan GAMIT/GLOBK memberikan informasi
tentang panjang baseline yang terbentuk beserta ketelitiannya. Gambar 1 adalah
gambar grafik ketelitian baseline.
6
Gambar 1. Grafik ketelitian baseline
Gambar 1 menunjukkan bahwa semakin panjang baseline, maka
ketelitiannya cenderung semakin rendah.
(simpangan baku semakin besar).

a. PUA1. X(-1696188,055 m ± 3,88 mm), Y(6120082,781 m ± 8,54
mm), Z(588439,1200 m ± 2,25 mm).
b. PUA2. X(-1696204,440 m ± 5,29 mm), Y(6120087,087 m ± 13,80
mm), Z(588393,7599 m ± 3,04 mm).
c. PUA3. X(-1696217,865 m ± 2,46 mm), Y(6120081,937 m ± 5,34
mm), Z(588409,1717 m ± 1,53 mm).
a. PUA1. X(-1696187,996 m ± 55,59 mm), Y(6120082,818 m ± 123,83
mm), Z(588439,2319 m ± 39,35 mm).
b. PUA2. X(-1696204,384 m ± 55,71 mm), Y(6120087,125 m ± 123,95
mm), Z(588393,8705 m ± 39,41 mm).
c. PUA3. X(-1696217,805 m ± 55,48 mm), Y(6120081,968 m ± 123,64
mm), Z(588409,2823 m ± 39,29 mm).
