The First Promise of Restoration

• Before Adam and Eve left the Garden of Paradise, a promise was made.

• This is the first promise of restoration.

• This is the first prophecy in the Bible

• It is called the : PROTOEVANGELIUM

• FIRST GOOD NEWS

Genesis 3:14-15 NKJV• So the LORD God said to the serpent:• “Because you have done this,

You are cursed more than all cattle,And more than every beast of the field;On your belly you shall go,And you shall eat dustAll the days of your life.15 And I will put enmityBetween you and the woman,And between your seed and her Seed;He shall bruise your head,And you shall bruise His heel.”

Genesis 3:15 Amplified Bible

• “And I will put enmity (open hostility)Between you and the woman,And between your seed (offspring) and her Seed;He shall [fatally] bruise your head,And you shall [only] bruise His heel.”

Unpacking the Meaning

• Enmity – open hostility, declared war• The woman – Eve• Your seed – offspring under dominion of evil one• Her seed – Jesus Christ & the Sons of God• Your head – crushed: destroyed the power of• His heel - bruised: given a rough time in life

“head”• “head” : rosh; Strong’s #7218; Head, the head of

the human body, the head of a line; what is principle or supreme, first, top, prince, the highest part, summit, beginning, foremost, leader, and chief. Just as the “head” of a company refers to it’s chief person, rosh is used to show headship. In Gen 3:15, the promise is that the Seed of the woman would someday crush the Serpent’s head, that woman in particular would play a part in undoing the effects of the Fall. In its most specific sense the Lord Jesus trampled Satan at the Cross. In its wider sense, the human race will eventually completely triumph over evil.” Spirit Filled Life Study Bible

Romans 5:17• For if by the one man’s

offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. NKJV

• For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Amp.

Romans 16:20• And the God of peace will

crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. NKJV

• And the God of peace will swiftly pound Satan to a pulp under your feet! And the wonderful favor of our Lord Jesus will surround you. TPT

• suntribo means “to beat up someone to a jelly” (or pulp).

Colossians 2:15

• In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. NLT

Ephesians 3:8-12 NKJV• 'To me, who am less than the least

of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the Ekklesia church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. '

• 'But he continues to pour out more and more grace upon us. For it says, God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.” So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will turn and run away from you. ' James 4:6-7 TPT

Job 22:28• You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for

you; So light will shine on your ways.
