Education

“Education is an investment in the social capital of a community. It provides individuals with skills and abilities. [It] develops citizens who are capable of working together to create, maintain, and enhance a sustainable society.” Maureen Hart

Sustainable Community Indicators measure the connectionsbetween different segments of the community, not just the level of crime in the community. Education and the ability to afford basic needs are keys to individual well-being, and have a direct connection to public safety!
