Profession of Faith: (A Creed, by Dick Ling, Roman Catholic Priest)

We believe in God, creator of a world of beauty and promise. God, the beginning and end of our life, God who is Father in his love and Mother in her care of all creation. We believe in God on earth, Jesus, who became Christ in resurrection, teacher of a new way-of faith that finds joy in trusting in the wisdom of God, of hope that believes this earth can rejoice in peace and prosperity, of love that risks everything for what is right, of commitment of losing one’s life in order to gain it. We believe in the Spirit, who empowers us for personal holiness and for the works of social justice. A Spirit who breathes within us and sends us forth on mission to profess our beliefs in action as well as in word. We believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic Church, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

THE EYES AND EARS OF CHRIST

ADULTS WHO WORK WITH CHILDREN

LOC BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP

All adults who work with children and youth are required to attend Adult Awareness Training on Wednesday August 22nd, from 6-8pm. Dinner will be provided. If you have

never taken training before, or need to renew, this is the only class we are offering this year. All adults in ministries that work directly with children and youth must take this training and participate in a background check. Training must be renewed every two years. Please see Fr. Teri if you have any questions if your role or ministry requires this training.

MOWING THE LAWN IN AUGUST

We are the eyes and ears of Jesus on earth today. It is our duty to be watching and listening to people around us, recognizing when they have needs for care. If you find someone with a need, listen and

care. If you find the need is greater than you can provide, tell the person about our Stephen Ministry and put him or her in touch with the Church Office at 303/772-3785 or a Stephen Leader; Chuck Cooper at 303/324-3800. We are the eyes and ears of Christ.

Join the Light of Christ Book Group in reading The Astronaut’s Wives Club: A True Story by Lily Koppel. The book tells the stories of the women who were essential players behind big events in the American Space Race of the 1960’s. Sign out a copy of the book from the book-bag in the LOC office. We will meet on Wednesday, August 8 at 7:00 pm for a lively discussion. Please contact Susan Finnegan for more details at 970/678-9992. All Are Welcome!

Make sure to save the date on your calendars for Saturday, August 18 and join us for Mass in the Fellowship Hall. A Potluck dinner is also in the works to take place after Mass that same day. We will keep you all posted with more details and sign-up sheets when they become available!

SAVE THE DATE!

From time to time the Church Office sends out an email announcement to everyone who has signed up for the All-Parish Email List. If you would like to receive these notices, please send a note to [email protected] and we will add your email address to the list!

ALL PARISH EMAIL

There is still an opportunity for you to help serve our community! We need a volunteer for the last week of August, the 20-25th, to mow the lawn and surrounding church grounds. Mowing takes about two hours-you may choose the date and time; we will provide the machines, tools and instructions! Please contact the Church Office or stop by the sign-up sheet in the Narthex to volunteer!
