WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 9, Section 1, of the Scottsdale City Charter, the City of Scottsdale held a General/Special Election on November 6, 2018, for the purpose of electing three Councilmembers and submitting one question and one proposition to the voters; and WHEREAS, on May 1, 2018, the Mayor and City Council adopted Resolution No. 11124, and, subsequently, on July 3, 2018, adopted Resolution No. 11203, calling a Special Election for November 6, 2018, and submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Scottsdale the question of authorizing an increase in the rate of transaction privilege and use taxes in the city by 0.10 percent (0.10%) for a period often (10) years to provide funds for transportation improvement projects; and WHEREAS, the proposed transaction privilege and use taxes increase was submitted to the voters at the November 6, 2018 General/Special Election as Question 1; and WHEREAS, on July 26, 2018, an amendment to the Scottsdale City Charter proposed by initiative petition to prohibit the alteration of the natural state of preserve lands and limit the use of preserve funds for any purpose other than those specifically outlined in the proposed amendment unless authorized by Scottsdale registered voters at a general or special election was certified for inclusion on the November 6, 2018 General/Special Election as Proposition 420; and WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 16-642 requires that the City Council canvass the returns of the election no later than twenty (20) days following the election; and WHEREAS, the City Council, having canvassed the returns of the November 6, 2018 General/Special Election, finds the returns to be as stated in this resolution; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Scottsdale as follows: 1. The results of the election having been determined, the official canvass of the City of Scottsdale General/Special Election held on November 6, 2018 is as follows: a) A summary of the number of votes cast in each precinct for each candidate for the office of councilmember and for Question 1 and Proposition 420 is shown on Exhibit A, which is attached and incorporated by this reference.

RESOLUTION NO. 11323

A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA, DECLARING THE OFFICIAL CANVASS OF VOTES CAST IN THE CITY OF SCOTTSDALE GENERAL/SPECIAL ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 6, 2018; AND DECLARING THE ELECTION OF THREE COUNCILMEMBERS.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 9, Section 1, of the Scottsdale City Charter, the City of Scottsdale held a General/Special Election on November 6, 2018, for the purpose of electing three Councilmembers and submitting one question and one proposition to the voters; and

WHEREAS, on May 1, 2018, the Mayor and City Council adopted Resolution No. 11124, and, subsequently, on July 3, 2018, adopted Resolution No. 11203, calling a Special Election for November 6, 2018, and submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Scottsdale the question of authorizing an increase in the rate of transaction privilege and use taxes in the city by 0.10 percent (0.10%) for a period often (10) years to provide funds for transportation improvement projects; and

WHEREAS, the proposed transaction privilege and use taxes increase was submitted to the voters at the November 6, 2018 General/Special Election as Question 1; and

WHEREAS, on July 26, 2018, an amendment to the Scottsdale City Charter proposed by initiative petition to prohibit the alteration of the natural state of preserve lands and limit the use of preserve funds for any purpose other than those specifically outlined in the proposed amendment unless authorized by Scottsdale registered voters at a general or special election was certified for inclusion on the November 6, 2018 General/Special Election as Proposition 420; and

WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 16-642 requires that the City Council canvass the returns of the election no later than twenty (20) days following the election; and

WHEREAS, the City Council, having canvassed the returns of the November 6, 2018 General/Special Election, finds the returns to be as stated in this resolution;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Scottsdale as follows:

1. The results of the election having been determined, the official canvass of the City of Scottsdale General/Special Election held on November 6, 2018 is as follows:

a) A summary of the number of votes cast in each precinct for each candidate for the office of councilmember and for Question 1 and Proposition 420 is shown on Exhibit A, which is attached and incorporated by this reference.

2. The following three named candidates, having received the first, second, and third highest number of votes cast in the November 6, 2018 General Election for the office of councilmember, were elected to four-year terms:

3. Question 1, authorizing an increase in the rate of transaction privilege and use taxes in the City by 0.10 percent (0.10%) for a period of ten (10) years to provide funds for transportation improvement projects, having received a number of votes that was more than a majority of the votes cast, was approved by the qualified voters at the November 6, 2018 Special Election.

4. Proposition 420, proposed by initiative petition to amend the City Charter to prohibit the alteration of the natural state of preserve lands and limit the use of preserve funds for any purpose other than those specifically outlined in the proposed amendment unless authorized by Scottsdale registered voters at a general or special election, having received a number of votes that was more than a majority of the votes cast, was approved by the qualified voters at the November 6, 2018 Special Election.

UNA RESOLUCION DEL CONCEJO DE LA CIUDAD DE SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA, DECLARANDO EL ESCRUTINIO OFICIAL DE VOTOS EMITIDOS EN LA CIUDAD DE SCOTTSDALE EN LA ELECCI6N GENERAL/ESPECIAL QUE SE LLEVO A CABO EL 6 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 2018; Y DECLARANDO LA ELECCION DE TRES MIEMBROS DEL CONCEJO.

CONSIDERANDO QUE, de conformidad con el Articulo 9, Seccion 1, de la Constitucion de la Ciudad de Scottsdale, la Ciudad de Scottsdale llevo a cabo una Eleccion General/Especial el 6 de noviembre de 2018 con el proposito de elegir tres Concejales y presenter una pregunta y una proposicion a los votantes; y

CONSIDERANDO QUE, el 1 de mayo de 2018, el Alcalde y el Concejo Municipal adoptaron la Resolucion Num. 11124, y, posteriormente, el 3 de julio de 2018, adoptaron la Resolucion Num. 11203, convocando a una Eleccion Especial para el 6 de noviembre de 2018, y presentando a los electores con derecho a voto de la Ciudad de Scottsdale la pregunta de autorizacion de un aumento en la tasa de privilegio de transaccion e impuestos de uso en la ciudad de un 0.10 por ciento (0.10%) por un perlodo de diez (10) anos para proveer fondos para proyectos de mejoramiento de transporte; y

CONSIDERANDO QUE, el propuesto aumento al privilegio de transaccion e impuestos de uso se presento a los votantes en la Eleccion General/Especial del 6 de noviembre 6 de 2018 como Pregunta 1; y

CONSIDERANDO QUE, el 26 de julio de 2018, una enmienda a la Constitucion de la Ciudad de Scottsdale propuesta por peticion de iniciativa para prohibir la alteracion del estado natural de las tierras de preservacion y limitar el uso de fondos de conservacion para cualquier proposito aparte de los detallados especificamente en la enmienda propuesta a menos que sea autorizado por los electores inscritos de Scottsdale en una eleccion general o especial fue certificada para inclusion en la eleccion general/especial del 6 de noviembre de 2018 como Proposicion 420; y

CONSIDERANDO QUE, A.R.S. § 16-642 requiere que el Concejo Municipal verifique los resultados de la eleccion a mas tardar veinte (20) dias despues de la eleccion; y

CONSIDERANDO QUE, el Concejo de la Ciudad, despues de haber examinado los resultados de la Eleccion General/Especial del 6 de noviembre de 2018, encuentra los resultados de acuerdo con lo que se indica en esta resolucion;

AHORA POR LO TANTO, SEA RESUELTO por el Concejo de la Ciudad de Scottsdale lo siguiente:

1. Habiendo sido determinados los resultados de la eleccion, el escrutinio oficial de la Eleccion General/Especial de la Ciudad de Scottsdale celebrada el 6 de noviembre de 2018 es el siguiente:

a) Un resumen del numero de votes emitidos en cada recinto para cada candidate para el puesto de concejal y para la Pregunta 1 y la Proposicion 420 se muestra en el Anexo A, que se adjunta e incorpora a esta referencia.

b) Un detalle de grupo de recinto del numero de papeletas rechazadas por recinto se muestra en el Anexo B, que se adjunta e incorpora a esta referencia.

2. Los siguientes tres candidates nombrados, habiendo recibido el primer, segundo y tercer mayor numero de votes emitidos en la Eleccion General del 6 de noviembre de 2018 para el puesto de concejal, fueron elegidos a terminos de cuatro afios:

3. La Pregunta 1, autorizando un aumento en la tasa de privilegio de transaccion e impuestos de uso en la Ciudad de un 0.10 por ciento (0.10%) por un periodo de diez (10) ahos para proporcionar fondos para proyectos de mejoramiento de transporte, habiendo recibido un numero de votes superior a una mayoria de los votes emitidos, fue aprobado por los votantes con derecho a vote en la Eleccion Especial del 6 de noviembre de 2018.

4. La Proposicion 420, propuesta por peticion de iniciativa para enmendar la Constitucion de la Ciudad para prohibir la alteracion del estado natural de las tierras de preservacion y limitar el uso de los fondos de conservacion para cualquier proposito aparte de los detallados especificamente en la enmienda propuesta a menos que sea autorizado por los electores inscritos de Scottsdale en una eleccion general o especial, habiendo recibido un numero de votos superior a una mayoria de los votos emitidos, fue aprobado por los votantes con derecho a voto en la Eleccion Especial del 6 de noviembre de 2018.
