A summers Day in the Garden
I was digging up the garden And what did I find?
An earthworm, some snails and an ants nest The earthworm made a hole through the ants nest
So the ants could come out and play And they all had a happy day.
I was mowing the lawn And what did I find?
Some toadstools, some weeds and some daisies With the daises, I created a chain
And wore it round my neck For the rest of the day.
I was walking round the pond And what did I find?
Some goldfish, lily pads and a refreshing fountain. As a friendly robin was looking on
And chirping a song.

The Four Seasons
Winter comes and goes, Followed by the spring,
And glorious summer follows, A leave has fallen from the trees.
Written by Elsie Smith
Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness
The beginning of autumn starts
You being to see the fruits ripen
And fall from the trees
Straight into our hearts

In the Spring
Spring is here
and the sun is out
but winters cold is still slightly about.
Gone are the days
Of frost and snow
And now we are left with a summery glow.
The flowers are blooming
And the bees are in sight
They have stretched out their wings
and are ready for flight.
Daffodils, daisies
And tulips grow
The garden looks different now without the snow!

The Flying fairies
The fairies worked their magic
It was a time reversal spell, how tragic!
For some, but not for me
As you will come to see.
As time whirred by
Before my very eyes
I see the fairies come to me
And they assist me to climb a tree.
Up, up, up I go to the top
When I hear a gigantic pop
I turn around
And fall to the ground.
And lo and behold
From out of my back
These wings unfold.
I fly to town
To fetch the gold
And after my mission was complete
I did not want to use my feet!

Curly Hair
I’ve got curly hair
And it’s just not fair
The way people call me a boy
And always have to stare
So one day
I try to straighten it
But what happened was….
I grew and afro!!!
And another day
I combed it all through
To me horror, it all fell out
And my curls randomly turned blue.
And after that, I gave up
I didn’t have a clue
I will always have a curly hair
And I’ll never know what to do!!!

St Valentines
There was a saint by the name valentine,
Who lived some time ago,
He loves many and many loved him,
Or so the legend goes.
In current times, on February 14th,
We celebrate those we hold dear.
We party, we drink,
We wine and we dine,
And we all have a wonderful time!!

Our Love
I am a dove From high above Bringing to you
All my love.
So let us pray That you and I Will never have To part and cry
Until then
Let others walk by And secretly
You and I Deep, deep down
Always know why.
We’ll love each other Until the day we die!

The lady in the well
There was an old lady
Who lived by a well
At one time she fell
Down, down into the well.
She found straight away
That through slight movement she could float.
Lying at the bottom of the well
There was a little boat
Let’s hope she got away
We still hope for her today.

My Head
My brains
Went down the drain
And washed right out
As if it was rain.
See I’ve always had an issue
With the way my head thinks
Even when I think I’m right
I’m wrong and my heart sinks!!

Dirty Sock
A long day after work
My socks seem to stink
I don’t know how or why they’re so bad
But I gave them a wash in the sink
My mum brought me some fresh new socks
And guess what they’re dirty again
Mum told me off, she said ‘get in the bath!
And don’t come out for another week and a half!!’

The Lonely Dinosaur
Upon a land not far away
Lives a dinosaur in a tree
One day a little boy approached the beast
And asked him if he’d like to play
The dinosaur let out a roar
The little boy ran away
The beast then felt lonely
He wished he had a friend
He hoped one day the boy would return
But until; then hell pretend.

Chinese New Year
Here comes the Chinese dragon
Dancing and breathing fire from his nose
People all around are celebrating
The coming of a new year.
He stands up on his hind legs
And lets out a majestic roar
The crowd cheers
And cries for more.
Lots of children are waving and playing
Underneath the colorful lanterns
The stench of fire and smoke
Sticking in your throat
Making everybody choke
Mothers looking after wailing babies
Taken them home after the day’s festivities
The sun sets on the end of a happy day
But the new year has only just begun.

Dislike
I dislike miserable people
They should be happy all the time
Like me, you see, I wear my smile
As I tell them a catchy rhyme.
I wish people would stop shouting
I’m not in the army anymore
I was for a while
But left after the war
I don’t like wars because
They have guns and things go bang
I still lie awake at night
Hearing the weapons clang
I sang to myself because
I’m only a lamb you see
And because it is me
I’m afraid you won’t see
The other side of me.

Christina
(Team Leader in the Lodge)
There was a nurse called Christina
Who would play the concertina
Until one day
It failed to play
So she asked for help from Tina!!
Irene (Care Manager of Marriott Lodge)
There was a girl named Irene
And all she could do was scream
When people kept coming
She wants to go running
And live her life in a dream!

Marvelous Monkey
Magical monkey
Maybe a marvelous marmoset
Swinging from branch to branch
To find his daily lunch.
Deep into the forest he will go
To gather bananas, oranges and grapefruit
Upon his return he shared his food with his
family
At least what was left of it……
Cheeky monkeys are always greedy!!

Somewhere over the Rainbow Written for St Patrick’s Day
I met a leprechaun by the sea
And he said these words to me
“which wish would you like to come true?
I can make you rich, through and through!
Let me take you to where I come from
To meet my family and pixie throng”
We followed the rainbow until we came to the end
And then we found our riches, my friend!
Gold and silver, diamonds and pearls
Then we were joined by other boys and girls
All dressed in green with shamrocks in our hair
We shared out the booty to make if quite fair.

The unlikely
Love affair
In a land not far away
A place where people used to stay
A gremlin stole my heart
And took it off in is red shiny cart.
I looked in the mirror to find my missing part
I couldn’t believe a gremlin had stolen my heart!
I took him away to shangalcia
And there we stayed so far away.
My Dog Dexter
My dog Dexter
Who I loved dearly
He was the most adorable dog
I can see it clearly
One day when on our outing
He ran after a ball
And left me there shouting
He’s playful and friendly
Understanding and loyal
I don’t even mind when he plays in the soil
