Who: Boys and Girls ages 3-5 When: Sat 8:30 to 9:30am (Booth) OR 9:35 to 10:35 am (Booth) 4/9—5/23- 6 wks (No class 4/30) Learn skills of hitting, throwing, field and base run-ning through drills. Mini-games are played to rein-force skills. Please have your little player come with a glove, sneakers or cleats, shorts/sweats or baseball pants. Volunteer coaches are needed. Please indicate on registration form if you would like to coach. This program concentrates on teaching the basics of baseball in a fun non-competitive environ-ment. Mass Parks PASS

We have a Park PASS for over 50 facilities in MA. This pass can be loaned out to families on a first come first serve basis. The PASS entitles the bearer to free parking for one vehicle (excluding buses or vans). Email rcalabrese@ foxboroughma.gov to reserve!

For the past 21 years Lizanne has taught pottery to adults and children in the great-er Boston area. Lizanne handcrafts her pottery at Potters Place in Walpole where she is a long-term member. She is delight-ed to teach clay with Foxboro Rec.

COOKING WITH KRISTENSON

Let Andrea Kristenson, our resident chef, show you how to make simple and delicious recipes. Andrea, now home with two children, was a chef instructor at Boston University's School of Hospitality Administration for 10 years, former food service director of Norman-dy Farms Campground, and owner and chef of former "A Family Affair Catering." She now teaches culinary courses for the Recrea-tion Department for both adults and children. All cooking classes are held at the CRRA– 68 Mill Street.

Electronics Instructor: Carl Geden Who: Boys & Girls ages 10 + When: Mondays, 5/16—6/20 (5 weeks ) No Class 5/30 Where: CRRA Recreation Hall– 68 Mill St. Fee: $130.00 Students will learn to solder and build several circuits utilizing transistors and integrated circuits. Projects will include a LED flasher, sound genera-tor and a sensor-activated project. Students will learn about voltage and current, AC, DC as well as other electrical properties and the instruments to measure them. The circuits the students build, they will keep.

Cupcake Design Instructor: Barbara Gooch Who: Boys & Girls ages 6-9 When: Two Workshops: EITHER Saturday 4/17 (1-2:30 pm) OR Tuesday 5/3 (4-5:30pm) Where: CRRA Recreation Hall– 68 Mill St. Fee: $46 pp Students will learn to design cupcakes that will amaze! Our theme is "cake in a cup". Join us for a fun cake finishing class. put together 2 layers of white cake + 3 layers of buttercream with a fondant topper we will make, all inside a coffee mug, sealed in a cellophane bag, ribbon.

Girls’ Field Hockey

Instructor: Melissa Bordieri Who: Girls, grades 5-8 When: Mondays 3:45 - 5:00pm 5/16 - 6/27 (no class 5/27) Where: Payson Field/ Sam Berns Community Turf Field Fee: $125.00 for 6 weeks (resident) $155 (non-resident) Coach Bordieri, FHS varsity coach since 2002 and now Hall of Fame Inductee, will introduce young athletes to the sport of field hockey. Instruction will be offered in fundamentals of the game: dribbling, passing, driving, and shooting with scrimmage games in which to apply those skills. This clinic is a great op-portunity both to learn about the game and for 8th graders to prepare for try-outs and competitive play at the high school level. Participants will receive a T-shirt. Each player must have a mouth guard, shin guards, cleats and a stick.

No spectators allowed– Moms & Sons Only. DJ Paul will entertain with music, fun, games, and more! Start building your teams of 15 boys MAXIMUM (and their moms!) create a team name and submit payment and paperwork. (A Spe-cial order form to be posted on site soon!) This event is capped at 450 participants—so register quickly to avoid disappointment. We will accept registrations April 1– 30 or until the event is sold out Don’t have a team but would love to play? FISHING DERBY

Who: Boys & Girls—age 15 and under When: Sunday, June 12, 9:00 am— noon Where: Lane Property, off North Street Fee: FREE (pre -registration required) Round out the Founder’s Day Weekend with a morning of fishing on beautiful Neponset Reservoir. Foxboro Recreation has teamed with Bass Pro Shops, Foxboro Fish & Game and Foxboro Stop & Shop to revive the local catch & release fish-ing event for Foxboro families. Kids 15 and under (accompanied by an adult) will receive a T-shirt and a lunch of a hotdog, soda and chips. Each participant should bring basic equipment– pole, line and bait. There will be prizes awarded in each of four age groups for largest fish and most fish caught.

Watch a family friendly movie on an enormous inflatable screen! Enjoy the experience even more with the incredible sound system and unbelievable quality digital projection. This is a Free Commu-nity Night Event and is guaranteed to be a huge hit for everyone! Bring your chairs and blankets. We will have concessions availa-ble to purchase. Movie to be announced !

Booth Summer Program - 2016

A Note from the Recreation Board: Welcome to another exciting, fun filled summer for your children ages 6-13! Whether you came here as a kid, your kids are returning or your child is new to the program, we are very excited to offer THE BEST SUMMER PROGRAM IN THE AREA. The Board of Recreation’s mission is to provide quality programs at a cost that is not only reasonable, but lower than any other program around– We have done our homework and know we are the lowest price without compromising quality. Our staff is well trained, CORI-SORI checked, CPR and First Aid Certified. A typical day at the Booth starts with a group meeting. Then it’s free play followed by 6-8 different organized activities– arts ‘n crafts, sports, field games, nature walks, quiet activities, cooking and more. The ten-nis courts, skate park and volleyball court are used and supervised. We go swimming twice per week at the Town pool, and offer a different field trip every week, and so much more!

REGISTRATION:

Booth Summer Program registration is online this year! Registrations starts April 12th and will continue open

registration until the program is full. We do have a limit on our registration numbers and our pro-cess is first come first served. We do leave a limited amount of spots for those seeking scholarships or have other funding options. Please see the Director in person if in need of a par-tial scholarship for out Booth Program. We do need paper-

work from Lunch Subsidy Program to apply. We offer before care and after care every week.

We increased our fees this year due to improvements and

additional staffing. Overall, it is an additional $6 per week for one child and $10 for two. Any questions… please contact us.

If not paid in full by June 14th– deposit will be returned (- $25

admin fee) and we will offer spot to those on waiting list.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Director

and a $50.00 administrative fee will be withheld. Foxboro Recreation is a non-profit organization. Through the gener-osity of others, specifically the Masonic Lodge Angel Fund, we have a limited amount of scholarships to assist families. We will work with families who need help with payments through payment plans and financial assistance. You must see the Recreation Director, Debbie Giardino before June 1. We will not be able to assist anyone after that date. *limited spots.

Happy Dogs Hike Who: Adults with their dogs When: Wednesdays, April 27—June 1 (10:30— 11:15 am) 6 Weeks Where: F. Gilbert Hills State Forest, Foxboro Fee: $25 (6 week program) Hike with “your best friend” and this great group. We will get some fresh air, exercise and your pet will love you for it! Please no aggressive dogs!

Ready to Run a 5K? Who: Adults When: Thursdays, April 28—June 30 6:30—7:30 PM 10 weeks Where: Pond St. Rec Complex, Route 115, Norfolk Fee: $75 (10 week program) This adult program is designed to get you off the couch or away from the desk and ready to run a 5K (3.1 miles) Group workout will be followed by stretching and advice about running and nutri-tion.

She collaborates with Foxboro Recreation to bring these fun workshops to children age 6+. Please register for only one workshop to allow room for as many children as possible. Only 12 children max each class.

Vernal Pool Adventure

Who: All are welcome When: 11-1 pm Dates: Thursday, April 21 Where: CRRA area Fee: FREE Come along in this family fun adventure and join our “guide” Jane Sears Pierce as she explores a vernal pool near our CRRA Hall. Afterwards, there will be a “show and tell” part of the adventure for all our great finds! Please:

Bring your parents, fish nets, and a sense of adventure.

POOL INFO & MEMBERSHIP

The CRRA pool is open for public swimming on summer afternoons. Lifeguards are always on duty . Adult supervi-sion is required for children aged 10 and under. The shal-low end has wide stairs for entrance into 3 feet of water; the deep end is 6 feet with stairs to climb out. Each end has a shelf for sitting while relaxing in the pool. Showers are available at poolside and accessible restrooms are on site. We have changed the way to pay and join our town pool this year! In order to better serve you (and your wallet!) and to be fair about any unforeseen closings, we have devel-oped the following pool payment plan.

Season: June 24- August 18, 2016 (Closed July 4 ) Hours: Monday– Sunday 12- 7pm Fees for season: Family Membership $ 165 Individual Membership $ 85 Senior Membership $ 25 Daily Pass per person $ 5 You can choose! You can pay for your membership in full at the beginning of the season OR you can pay on a daily basis until you reach the family membership total and then you will have obtained your membership and pay no longer!

We can not be responsible for pool closures. Our staff does an excellent job of maintaining a public pool, however, there are weather/ nature conditions that sometimes arise that make it essential to close the pool for short time frames. We follow all MA Health Dept. and Foxboro Board of Health Regulations any questions or issues can be addressed with these depts. We can no longer reimburse members for closures.

Mini Cooking Program - July 19 –21 Cook with Kristenson at her mini program for kids 9+. Each day, kids will bring home Meals to eat with the last day on a field trip! Tues– Thurs

Theater Week - July 25-29 This program is a blast! Kids work with Laura Canfield to create a musical, scenery, their own costumes and programs! Mon - Fri 12:30 - 4:30 with the last day a performance on Foxboro Common! Soccer Goalie Clinic - July 11- 14 OR Aug 8-11 Hallie Canfield and Danielle Motta instruct this skills/drills based clinic for kids grades 3-6. Choose the week that works with your schedule.
