Who: Boys and Girls ages 3-5 When: Sats 8:30 to 9:30am (Booth) OR 9:35 to 10:35 am (Booth) 4/11—5/16 - 6 wks Learn skills of hitting, throwing, field and base run-ning through drills. Mini-games are played to rein-force skills. Please have your little player come with a glove, sneakers or cleats, shorts/sweats or base-ball pants. Volunteer coaches are needed. Please indicate on registration form if you would like to coach. This program concentrates on teaching the basics of baseball in a fun non-competitive environment. Keyogi Yoga for Preschoolers

Erin Mann is an Early Childhood Educator and a Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor. Erin started “Keyogi Kids” (a play on words with her maiden name, Keyo) and has been offering yoga ses-

sions at local schools and libraries since 2011. Erin strives to teach children traditional

yoga poses and calm breathing strategies. Erin’s playful yoga sessions are full of music, games

and children’s literature. “Little Yogis” will provide preschoolers an opportunity to learn yoga poses and sequences. The sessions will incorporate familiar children’s literature and simple yoga

poses. Children will enjoy stories, games, music and a simple craft. Yoga mats will be provided. This three week course is the perfect sampler

to spring session!

Clay with Lizanne Donegan Clay Class– New Session—Starts May 5th

Who: Boys and Girls grades 4-7 When: Tues 3:45—5:15 pm (CRRA) 6 wks 5/5—6/9 Fee: $135 for 6 wks Instructor: Lizanne Donegan Lizanne Donegan is a resident of Foxboro. For the past 21 years Lizanne has taught pottery to adults and children in the greater Boston area. Lizanne handcrafts her pottery at Potters Place in Walpole where she is a long-term member. She is delighted to teach clay with Foxboro Rec.

Adult—Sgraffito Tile Workshop

When: June 2, 7:30—9:30pm Fee: $50 includes supplies/firing fee

In this 2 hr workshop, students will enjoy creating an image on clay

6 X 6 tile. This will be a fun night out for adults to create!

Cooking With Kristenson

Let Andrea Kristenson, our resident chef, show you how to make simple and delicious recipes. Andrea, now home with two children, was a chef instructor at Boston University's School of Hospitality Administration for 10 years, former food service director of Norman-dy Farms Campground, and owner and chef of former "A Family Affair Catering." She now teaches culinary courses for the Recrea-tion Department for both adults and children. All cooking classes are held at the CRRA– 68 Mill Street.

Robotics I Instructor: Carl Geden Who: Boys & Girls ages 10 + When: Mondays, 4/6—5/11 (5 weeks ) No Class 4/20 Where: CRRA Recreation Hall– 68 Mill St. Fee: $135.00 includes robots and tools Students will be instructed in robotic systems through a hands-on program with working robots. Each participant will build/ keep their own programmable robot. Working in a team, students will be intro-duced to a BASIC programming language that is used to control the robot. The robots will then compete in a mini sumo-wrestling tourna-ment. This course is recommended for ages 10 and up.

Extreme Science Carl Geden instructs this wonderful workshops to teach about extreme tem-peratures and electricity. Dates TBA 2 hour workshops $30

Spring Sports & Exercise - 2015

Mens’ Softball

Who: Men over 35 This is a semi-competitive slow pitch league which plays once a week from April through August at the Taylor Elementary School softball field. Previous experience playing softball or baseball is helpful. If interested, visit our “FOSL” page on Facebook or call the rec office at 508-543-7255.

Girls’ Field Hockey

Who: Girls, grades 4-8 When: Mondays 3:45 - 5:00pm Dates: 5/11 - 6/22 (no class 5/25) Where: Payson Field Fee: $125.00 for 6 weeks (resident) Instructor: Melissa Bordieri Coach Bordieri, FHS varsity coach since 2002 and now Hall of Fame Inductee, will introduce young athletes to the sport of field hockey. Instruction will be offered in fundamentals of the game: dribbling, passing, driving, and shooting with scrimmage games in which to apply those skills. This clinic is a great opportunity both to learn about the game and for 8th graders to prepare for try-outs and competitive play at the high school level. Partici-pants will receive a T-shirt. Each player must have a mouth guard, shin guards, cleats and a stick.

Instructor: Anna Cesary & Emma Flaherty Who: Girls—grades 5-8 When: 5/ 11—6/15 6:00– 7:00pm Where: Ahern Gym Fee: $55 Our newest sports program that helps girls learn thjs fun sport years before high school where it is a competitive sport. Learn the rules, posi-tions, and fundamental skills of this super fun and growing sport. Focus on serving, passing, setting, and hitting. Drills and matches and get exposure to the game before 9th grade.

Kids & Adult Tennis

Coach Alan Lightbody, coach of the dominating FHS girls’ tennis team, brings his knowledge and skills to beginners and intermediate players through the Rec. New schedule will be out starting June 15th! Be sure to check out website and facebook for details . This program always fills up quick!

Spring - Summer Events 2015

Fishing Derby 2015

Who: Boys & Girls—age 15 and under

When: Sunday, June 14, 2015 9:00 am— noon

Where: Lane Property, off North Street

Fee: FREE (pre -registration required)

Round out the Founder’s Day Weekend with a morning of

fishing on beautiful Neponset Reservoir. Foxboro Recrea-

tion has teamed with Bass Pro Shops, Foxboro Fish &

Game and Foxboro Stop & Shop to revive the local catch

& release fishing event for Foxboro families. Kids 15 and

under (accompanied by an adult) will receive a T-shirt and

a lunch of a hotdog, soda and chips. Each participant

should bring basic equipment– pole, line and bait. There

will be prizes awarded in each of four age groups for larg-

est fish and most fish caught.

Mother & Son Dodgeball Tournament

at Gillette Stadium A Foxboro Rec and NE Patriots

Collaboration

Who: Mothers & Sons When: TBD Where: Gillette Stadium Fee: $40 per couple/ $18 additional child This is one of our most popular events! Sorry dads and daugh-ters—you will need to sit this one out! No spectators allowed– Moms & Sons Only. DJ Paul will entertain with music, fun, games, and more! Start building your teams of 15 boys MAXIMUM (and their moms!) create a team name and submit payment and paper-work. (A Special order form to be posted on site soon!) This event is capped at 450 participants—so register quickly to avoid disappointment. We will accept registrations April 1– 30 or until the event is sold out Don’t have a team but would love to play? Submit your information and we will find a team for you! This event is rain or shine.

Touch A Truck Day

Booth Summer Program - 2015 - Birthday Parties

A Note from the Recreation Board: Welcome to another exciting, fun filled summer for your children ages 6-13! Whether you came here as a kid, your kids are returning or your child is new to the program, we are very excited to offer THE BEST SUMMER PROGRAM IN THE AREA. The Board of Recreation’s mission is to provide quality programs at a cost that is not only reasonable, but lower than any other program around– We have done our homework and know we are the lowest price without compromising. Our staff is well trained, CORI-SORI checked, CPR and First Aid Certified. A typical day at the Booth starts with a group meeting. Then it’s free play followed by 6-8 different organized activities– arts ‘n crafts, sports, field games, nature walks, quiet activities, cooking and more. The ten-nis courts, skate park and volleyball court are used and supervised. We go swimming twice per week at the town pool, and offer a different field trip every week, and so much more!

REGISTRATION:

Booth Summer Program registration must be done in person, using special Summer Registration Form not online.

Registrations will be excepted on these dates: April 13, 14 & 15th 10-2pm & 6:30-7:30pm

We will accept registrations in the mail if paid in full and on proper registration form found on our website. This year we will be offering an 8 week program. We offer before care and after care every week.

FEES

8 week camp: One child $395.00 (6/29 - 8/21) Each additional child add $215.00 Non-Resident $600 per child You asked and we listened! Before care will start at 7:30 this year!

Before Care ( 7:30-9:00am) $4 per child per day

After Care (3:00-5:00pm) $7 per child per day

Half payment is due at registration

Balances due on or before June 1st

Late fee of $25.00 will be applied after June 15th

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Director

and a $50.00 administrative fee will be withheld. Foxboro Recreation is a non-profit organization. Through the generosity of others, specifically the Masonic Lodge Angel Fund, we have a limited amount of scholarships to assist families. We will work with any families who need help with payments through payment plans and financial assistance. You must see the Recreation Director, Debbie Giardino before June 3rd. We will not be able to assist anyone after that date.

Book Signing Event Jane Young, our dog trainer, has written a new book on How to Teach Your Dog. Please join us in the Chapel Meeting house to get a new copy or get your already purchased book signed by the author! Light refreshments will be served. Free Workshops for Dog Owners

These workshops are free to attend and no-pre-registration required. Please invite all family members to attend but leave the dog at home.

Tues. June 9, 2015 "Come Doesn't Mean When You Feel Like It". This information is for all dog owners since a dog that comes when called is a safe dog.

Tues. Sept. 8 2015 "Leash Walking Should Be Fun". Tricks of the trade to have leash walking be fun for both ends of the leash. Topics include stopping pulling (of the human and the dog), walking behind, walking beside, pausing in a settle and sniff walking.

Babysitting

Who: Boys & Girls—age 11-17 When: Saturday, April 25th 9:00 am— 3:00 pm Where: CRRA—68 Mill Street Fee: $90 includes lunch Two certified American heart Association BLS instructors with over 25 years of health care experience share their experience and background allow them to bring a unique and extensive level of expertise to the classroom. Covering: Adult/child/infant CPR,AED Hands on training using adult and infant manikins—Adult/child/infant choking and prevent-ing injury to children and when to call for help—First aid basics. Role play for first aide. Stages of child development—Feeding and changing a baby—Safety for the sitter. Games and crafts to play with children—How to start your babysitting business. Marketing your new skills.—Wrap up/evaluation.

R.A.D. for Ages 16– 25

Who: Age 16—25 When: Thursdays, 5/7—28 (4 weeks Where: McGinty Room, Foxboro Public Safety Building Fee: FREE (pre -registration required) This program teaches self defense and self awareness tips to pre-vent or be prepares if ever attacked. The first successful RAD class completed this winter. Police officers, Val Collins & Scott Hodson instruct this powerful session. NO cost but you must pay $25 to be reimbursed if complete the whole class. Maximum # 20 students.

Beginners Knitting

Who: Boys & Girls—age 8—12 When: Tuedays, 3/31— 5/5 Where: CRRA—68 Mill St. Fee: $45 Learn basic knitting with Laurie Bubencik. Make a project you will be proud of! This is fun and interactive class teaching a skill that will last a lifetime.

POOL INFO & MEMBERSHIP

The CRRA pool is open for public swimming on sum-mer afternoons. Lifeguards are always on duty . Adult supervision is required for children aged 10 and under. The shallow end has wide stairs for entrance into 3 feet of water; the deep end is 6 feet with stairs to climb out. Each end has a shelf for sitting while relaxing in the pool. Showers are available at poolside and accessible restrooms are on site. We have changed the way to pay and join our town pool this year! In order to better serve you (and your wallet!) and to be fair about any unforeseen closings, we have developed the following pool payment plan.

Season: June 24 - August 21, 2015 Hours: Monday– Sunday 12- 7pm Fees for season: Family Membership $ 165 Individual Membership $ 85 Senior Membership $ 25 Daily Pass per person $ 5 You can choose! You can pay for your membership in full at the beginning of the season OR you can pay on a daily basis until you reach the family membership total and then you will have obtained your member-ship and pay no longer! We can not be responsible for pool closures. Our staff does an excellent job of maintaining a public pool, however, there are weather/ nature conditions that sometimes arise that make it essential to close the pool for short time frames. We follow all MA Health Dept. and Foxboro Board of Health Regulations any questions or issues can be addressed with these depts. We can no longer reimburse members for clo-sures.
