The RBI Policy Challenge-2017 - A National Level Competition for Under.Graduate /Post Graduate students

As the Central Bank of the cof.1,ntry , the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is committed tospreading awareness regarding finanCial matters and promotion of betterunderstanding of monetary and economic issues. Towards this, we had launched aNational-Level competition titled 'The RBI Policy Challenge' last year. Targeted atUnder Graduate and Post 'Graduate students pursuing any discipline in selectUniversities/colleges/Institutes of Excellence in the country, the three-tier competitiontested essay -writing, problem solving and presentation skills of the participants andwas well received with more than 260 reputed institutes participating from across thecountry.

2. We are pleased to now announce the schedule for 'The RBI Policy Challenge- 2017'which would be conducted as per the following methodology:

• Regional Round: This would involve writing an essay on a given topic bystudents in groups of 3 or 4 guided by a faculty adviser. Only one entry perinstitution would be accepted. • Zonal Round (At CAB, Pune on January 31,2017): A real-life problem basedon a monetary 1economic issue would be handed over to all teams in advanceand they will be expected to make a presentation of 15 minutes on theirapproach to the problem before a panel of experts. Best team from every zonewould advance to the National Round .

• National Round (At RBI Central Office, Mumbai sometime in late February 1early March, 2017): A monetary policy related topic would be assigned to allteams in the in the forenoon and they would be required to make a 15-minutepresentation in the afternoon before an eminent Panel. Each team would alsobe fielding questions during a Q&A session of 10 minutes. The adjudged thebest would be declared the Winners.

3. In addition to an attractive running trophy, replicas of which shall be handed over tothe National winners, the winning team shall be awarded a cash prize of Rs 1.00 lakh.The winning team members would also be given the opportunity to intern with RBI fora period of up to 3 months in a department of their choice. Team placed second wouldwin a cash prize of Rs 50,0001- plus a trophy while the other two National finaliststeams would win Rs 25,0001- as cash prize each. Regional and Zonal winners shallbe awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,0001- and Rs 15,0001- respectively.

4. We invite your esteemed institution to participate in this initiative that promises toprovide students with an interesting array of challenges and accord them nationalrecognition in return.
