Producing Our Film Review

Firstly, we looked at existing magazines to draw some inspirations from them and see the layout of their film reviews. We analyzed the reviews to see what we liked and disliked about it and what we may use or may not use when producing one for our film.

We like the box at the side with the summaries of the whole film.

This film review is written informally as it has swear words such as “Bloody”. The review highlighted one of the scenes which was spectacular and talked about how long it took to create that masterpiece. We don’t like this informal writing although it suits the audience need.

The review has only one picture in the middle making the writing go around it and it’s appealing.

They asked question to engage the reader.

This review has an unique layout with snapshots of pictures from the film.

It is colour consistent as it uses only two colours. We like this consistency and will use it on our magazine.

A quick introduction of the film to attract the readers.

This review contains critics comments about the film.

This review contains the picture of the author who wrote the book as well as the characters from the film.

The review has been written formally and it is too informative therefore we don’t like it as our audience are teenagers and won’t like it being too informative.

It used subtitle to attract the reader.

Having looked at the reviews, we then created our own with the inspiration attained from the existing reviews. We decided to add few things we liked and add our own concept into it.

We did a box that the “King Kong” review had that we liked so we went for that but kept it simple.

We made the “B” bigger and used the color red to keep up the consistency with the quote and the title of the.

We added quote as a quick review.

We Photo shopped the picture to make it bright to illustrates the effect of taking drugs, because when one takes drugs, the surrounding appears bright.

The layout of the paragraphs is a conventional.
