Apostdoctoral researchposition is immediatelyavailable in the laboratory of James Stockand,PhD at the University of Texas Health ScienceCenter at San Antonio. The position isfunded at a competitive salary by the NationalInstitutes of Health Grant T32 HL007446.Highly motivated early-career scientistsinterested in cardiovascular, cardiorenal andmetabolism are encouraged to apply. Prioritywill be given to those with experience withelectrophysiology. At the time of appointment,candidatesmust hold an advanced professionaldegree (e.g. MD or PhD), be a citizen orpermanent resident of the USA, and no morethan 4 years from graduationwith their terminaldegree. 2021 HFSP NAKASONE AWARD
The HFSP Nakasone Award is awarded to scientists inrecognition of pioneering work that has moved the frontierof the life sciences. This may encompass conceptual,experimental or technological breakthroughs. The awardrecognizes the vision of former Prime Minister Nakasone ofJapan in the creation of the Organization.
The competition is open; it is not limited to HFSP awardeesand there is no age limit for candidates. In selecting theawardee, theCouncil of Scientistswill pay particular attentionto recent breakthroughs by younger scientists. The awardeewill receive an unrestricted research grant of 10,000 USD, acommemorative medal and an invitation to deliver the HFSPNakasone Lecture at the 2021 HFSP Awardees Meeting.
