This is a photo edited by Photoshop in masking and duplicating

layers and merge together. Create masks and paint it in white, black

or grey to create the effects of half transparent

By importing a sequence of pictures to after effects, and key in the

background and different paper texture by linear colour key. It will change

the colour of the elephant while the video is playing.

By import the photoshop .psd file to after effects and create masks on the layers to create the

movement of Bowie and the dog using pen tool to draw the area of masking. Also, for the sound it is

making by premiere. Premiere usually used for manipulate audio and video.

This is an exercise using Anamorph as the edited

subject. By cutting 1 second in the video and save as

png folder. Using photoshop to make effects on the

photo (extrude, blur etc.) and record it.

Using pen tools in after effects to make a path surround the face.

Same as elephant, just using the linear colour key and drag

the ink tools to the area that for masking. By putting the

photo underneath to the composition.

I have masking the layers of the picture and painted white,

black and grey to make it half transparent to the neck of

the boy in photoshop. After that add the sequence of

pictures in after effects to make the head moving up and

down.

Exercise 8: Saxophone (Parenting walking cycle)

This animation is mainly adjust the movement of each part of the

combination of instruments. Firstly masking each part in photoshop

and using after effects to adjust the movement by masking it and

merge together, then parenting the walking cycle step by step. This

work is done by me and Catriona Power.

Storyboard

This is a story about a girl non-stopping dancing under a sad music, she dances and break into pieces and gathering it again. At the

end she falls. It is a piece of work made by photoshop, flash and affect effects. Cat is responded to the story making and made the

animatic in flash. I responded to the adjusting in photoshop and editing in after effects.

Firstly imported the videos of animatic, and key out the colour for masking. After that, adjusted the movement of each part of the

pictures and also the correction of them. Finally double check all the layers are in the correct position then rendered it to video files.

It took a long time to do it because if there is some tiny mistake in the animatic or masking, it might leading to redo some parts again.

This is a good practise to provide me more information about after effects, I understand the importance of back up all the stuff

because it had a sudden crush of the computer that makes certain parts of the editing lost.

Baa! Sheep Animation

It is a story about a sheep having problems of messy, long hair and the things it happens in salon.

Before this characterised story, I decided to use ‘Pac Man’ to be my theme unfortunately it has

been bend. I have made the animatic and colouring in flash and merge the pictures and masking

in after effects. It is a happy experience to have a chance that able to use Sheep as the topic of

animation. The long hair of sheep inspire me a question that what happen to the sheep if their

hairs too long or messy? Then it becomes the theme of this animation.
