STEAM Is it possible to kill bacteria?

Pathogenic agents are not resistant to the thermal shock of

vapor cleaning. Research has demonstrated that saturated

steam treatment eliminates 99% of bacterial fungi and mold on

virtually any surface.

Unlike other cleaning methods, vapor is able to enter into all

surface cracks.

Laboratory data may show the

efficacy of steam to kill

bacteria.

But, it is not true in the field.

It is possible for steam to

remove bacteria at the site.

But in the case of steam, it is

difficult to expect a complete

sterilization because the steam

temperature significantly

decreases as distance

increases. NaOClean isn’t affected by

distance and temperature

because NaOCLean

electrolyzed water has

sterilizing power due to it being

a powerful oxidizer.

OZONE

How is Ozone generated?

Ozone is a form of oxygen that is created when electrical energy

breaks apart an ordinary oxygen molecule (O2) starting a

chemical reaction that results in ozone (O3).

- Electrical energy breaks the ordinary O2 molecule into two

O1 atoms

- The free oxygen atoms unite with other O2 molecules to

produce ozone

- (O1) + (O2) = Ozone (O3)

Ozone is an unstable molecule because the 3rd oxygen atom is

connected to the other two atoms with a weak bond.

2. The separated atom is an

unstable and excited oxygen

atom.

1. Breaking atoms apart by Beam, UV,

Sunlight, accelerated electron,

wave and more.

O2 O3

3. The 3rd oxygen atom is connected

to the other two atoms and ozone is

formed by three oxygen atoms.

OZONE

How does Ozone work?

The unstable third oxygen atom can

combine with organic and inorganic

molecules to destroy or change them

through oxidation. This process happens

almost instantaneously.

The chemical process of ozone oxidation is

relentless. It continues until the ozone is

completely consumed.

When this beneficial third unstable atom

completes its oxidizing duties, it leaves

behind only the familiar oxygen molecule

like the ones in the air we breathe, O2.

OZONE

Does it REALLY have strong

sterilizing power?

Ozone, a form of the gas, must be dissolved

into water.

However, because of a weak dissolution rate

between gas and water, numerous problems

arise such as:

-Decrease of sterilizing power

-Lower employee productivity due to the

effects of ozone exposure

-High electric power usage

-The onset of dizziness, headache and

nausea due to ozone exposure

OZONE

Is It Safe?

Low concentrations of ozone occur naturally in the

stratosphere, which is part of the Earth’s upper atmosphere.

At that level, ozone helps to protect life on Earth by

absorbing ultraviolet from the sun, particularly UVB radiation

that can cause skin cancer and cataracts, damage crops,

and destroy some types of marine life.

BUT, man-made ozone is extremely toxic and corrosive.

People who inhale ozone during repeated exposure may

permanently damage their lungs or suffer from respiratory

infections. Ozone exposure may reduce lung function or

aggravate existing respiratory conditions such as asthma,

emphysema or bronchitis. Ozone may also cause chest pain,

coughing, throat irritation or congestion.

NaOCl

Scientific, proactive and efficient

management of sanitation

Environmental changes caused by industrialized economies have

triggered extreme weather, such as high temperature with

humidity and heat waves, resulting in the proliferation of

microorganisms, such as food poisoning bacteria. This creates a

higher risk of food poisoning which used to occur on rainy

summer days begins to arise regardless of the weather.

NaOClean proposes a solution about these issues.

It produces powerful disinfection agents no risks to human

health or safety. NaOCLean offers substantial cost savings in

many circumstances. It is often considerably less expensive than

using traditional chlorine based chemicals.

Since NaOClean only needs a small amount of salt and tap water,

it is free of chemical related problems. It can sanitize everything,

and meets HACCP sanitation guidelines.

Page 14: Research materials - NaOClean Research materials... · 2014-06-12 · Source: Korea Testing & Research Institute 99.99% Initial 7.5X10 5 CFU/ml Escherichia coli 99.99% Initial 2.7X105

NaOClean

How does it work?

The NaOClean system ensures a reliable

supply of electrolyzed disinfectant of highly

active sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl).

Without affecting the pH level, electric

current passes through tap water mixed

with a small amount of salt in an undivided

electrolytic bath. The NaOCLean system

efficiently generates a stable Sodium

hypochlorite solution and other elements

such as OH (Hydroxyl radical) and H2.

You can also use other active reagents

such as hydrochloric acid (HCl) instead of

salt to produce hypochlorous acid (HOCl)

and other disinfecting solutions depending

on the reagent.

1. In equipment using an electrolytic bath with a

membrane to separate acidic and alkaline water:

-This process causes serious economic losses.

-The alkaline water should be kept in a different

tank or be abandoned from the bath because the

process does not use the acidic and alkaline

water simultaneously to produce acidic water.

-Due to its strong corrosive properties, the

produced water can corrode steel, stainless steel

and other metals, and it also can cause skin

damage.

-Declining performance of the membrane will

increase maintenance cost.

2. In case of using high concentration sodium

hypochlorite dilution equipment:

-It generates high level sodium hypochlorite

and inevitably produces a large quantity of corrosive

and odorous hydrochloric acid gas.

-Because it is not fully electrolyzed in the electrolytic

bath and is diluted with tap water the last step, it

does not produce activated chlorine water.

(Buffer reaction)

-It is similar to less effective conventional

disinfectants.

-In this preocess, electricity is wasted and significant

heat is generated that causes problems of

component failures and corrosion.

Measurement Method of Bacteria

There are major discoveries in the late 19th century.

-1884: Gram staining by Hans Christian Gram

-1887: Petri dish by Juilius Richard Petri

Although we could not proceed with experiments of Gram staining, we have tested

by Petri dish method and the results has shown that NaOCLean can reduce bacteria

counts by 99.99%.

1. Gram staining -Gram-positive bacillus : Diphtheria

bacillus, Actinomyces, Tetanus,

Pneumoniae, Staphylococcus, Anthrax

and more.

-Gram-negative bacillus : E.coli

(Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Dysentery

bacillus and more.

cafeterias, kitchens, restrooms, floors and drains.

- NaOCLean can solve the problems of biofilm induced slippery floor and bad odors.

- As neutral water, NaOCLean does not turn food brown or cause protein degeneration. It maintains

the freshness of food as it is processed.

- NaOCLean helps to maintain good personal hygiene by removing work related bacteria and bad

odors from hands and body.

Many domestic hypermarkets are going through serious hygiene problems at the

Fish and Meat sections.

Because various diseases and health problems are occurring continuously, the state

is evaluating the modernization of equipment and protocols for hygiene

management.

The NaOClean System ensures reliable a supply of highly active electrolyzed sodium

hypochlorite disinfectant that is generated with a small amount of salt not chemicals.

With NaOCLean’s strong sterilizing power and unsurpassed safety, we are looking

forward to playing an important role in solving the problems caused by chemical

usage.

3. Agriculture

- It is highly effective in controlling plant diseases such as Anthrax, Fusarium wilt, Mildew,

Black Shank, Dieback and more.

- Because there is no residual chlorine on the crops, it is possible to spray just before harvest and it

does not promote pesticide and fungicide resistance.

- By spraying NaOCLean electrolyzed water regularly, crop yields may be increased thus

increasing farmer income and consumer confidence.
