Stan Cowen, Charlie Parker and Russ Gustafson-Hilton founded St. Petersburg Clay Company, Inc. in 1996.
World renowned clay artist Charlie Parker greets Resurrection House Auxiliary members as they join him for a
tour and as he creates one of his beautiful works of art.
Charlie begins with a 25 lb. block of clay!
Yes, Charlie is pounding the clay against the wheel.
The clay is out of the bag, and Charlie begins working with it.
Beginning to round out. Yes, that’s a bat on the table – one of the “special” tools Charlie uses.
Watch the top of the clay as Charlie begins forming.
That small piece at the top is lopped off and will make its way to the oven.
Not sure what Charlie is doing – is this a slam dunk about to happen?
Aha! Charlie presses down and begins to form the well.
So it’s beginning to really look like something. Charliemakes it look so easy, but looks – in this case – really are deceiving!
