TKK is the oldest and largest engineering university in Finland: founded in 1849, with 250 professors, 15 000 under- and postgraduate students, 1007 Masters´ degrees and 158 doctorates awarded in 2006. Together with Helsinki School of Economics (HSE) and University of Art and Design Helsinki (TaiK) TKK will form the new ”Innovation University” named as Aalto University in 2009.

Otaniemi in the Helsinki metropolitan area in Espoo is the leading technology hub in the Nordic countries, with a mix of top-level research organizations, academic institutions and technology businesses.
