IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES FOR MAINTENANCE OF RECOGNITION FOR STUDENT ORGANIZATION In order to remain on the list of officially recognized student organizations, it is expected that: a) Organizations will continue to strictly observe and adhere to the provisions of their Constitution and by-laws. b) Any change in organizational structure, objectives, activities, basis for membership or affiliations with other organizations, either local or national, should be presented to the OSA Dean and the BMSO for appropriate action. Request for Amendments in the Constitution and By-laws 1) The proposed amendments prepared in five (5) copies must first be presented to the SOU office to be forwarded to the BMSO. 2) The wordings of the article(s), suggested amendment and incorporation must be indicated by underscoring. After a review of the proposed amendments, the approved changes shall be returned to the organization. Implementation of the proposed changes by the organization concerned shall be made after receipt of such approval from the BMSO. c) The current list of officers and members and faculty adviser/s should be submitted to the SOU office within one (1) week after every election of officers. d) Annual and semestral reports of accomplishments, financial statements should be submitted to the SOU office for evaluation. e) At least ten (ten) activities are required to be accomplished by each student organization for one school year. e.2 Educational – Includes tutorial/remedial class, seminars/workshop, slide presentation, review, symposium, quiz – bee, quotations etc.

e.3 Socio Cultural – Includes induction and balls, parties, debate, folk singing, fashion, modeling and the like.

e.4 Recreational/Sports – Includes dual, Triangular/Quadrangular met between or among organizations – chess, basketball, football, volleyball etc.

e.5 Organizational Development – Includes recruitment/screening/initiation, seminars(members), park beautification and special meetings (regular meetings not included) etc.

e.6 Fund raising - includes selling of goods books, food, raffle draw, concert, etc.

e.6.1 In conducting fund raising activities which involve tickets should submit a

permit at least 2 weeks before the conduct of the activity. When the activity

involves a gross proceeds of ten thousand pesos and above , the organization is

required to get a DTI permit .

Activities of Student organizations shall be accompanied by a permit or proposal (with the use of SOU Form 10) to the SOU office 3 days before the conduct of activity. The activity will then be endorsed to the dean of Students for approval.

No activity shall be conducted during the moratorium period, i.e, at least two weeks

before every final term examination unless the activity is academic related and that there is

an approval from the Dean of Students or Vice President for Academic Affairs.

No overnight activity or activities shall be conducted by any recognized student organization.

No activity shall be allowed to conduct by the student organizations without the

approval of the Dean of Students. Defiance of such rule will be dealt with 1 semester

suspension and repetition of such act will be a cause or ground for permanent dissolution of

the organization.

f) Membership in any recognized organization is limited to bona fide CLSU students.

g) Membership in any organization is limited to any one fraternity/sorority and one co-curricular

organization. For purposes of adjustment to university life, freshmen students must be given

enough time to adjust, orient and observe activities in the campus, hence, no freshmen shall

qualify as member of student organizations.

h) Any organization which meets the requirements set by the BMSO for renewal shall be placed

on conditional status.

The Dean of Students and/or the Board of Management for Student Organizations shall

revoke the recognition given to any group which fails to abide by the conditions of recognition

listed thereat.
