1. TECHNICAL DIRECTORATE
1.1. Water system and water production
Improvement of water system
For the improvement of water system the following works were implemented in the
reporting period:
Katnaghbyur
D=100mm air removal valve of Katnaghbyur III water main located in Mayakovski
village had Q=5 l/s water leakage. The problem was eliminated by the employees of
WPSHE Directorate.
Araratyan
In order to meet water demand washing of the water main was carried out for
future opertaion.
During the operation it turned out that near the fence of Erebouni airport L=200m
D=1000mm section of Araratyan I water main had been stolen by unknown people.
In the mentioned area L=15m intermediate connection was built between Araratyan
I and Araratyan II water mains. It enabled to direct water volume produced by
Araratyan pumping station to Kharberd DRR. D=250mm outlet valve was also built.
Q=300 l/s breakdown was detected in the area called 9th km, on Araratyan II water
main. The breakdown was eliminated by the employees of WPSHE Directorate.

1.2. Construction works aimed at the improvement and renewal
of water supply system
1.2.1. Reconstruction of the water line of Yerznkyan street
First stage
For the improvement of water supply it is envisaged to remove D=150mm water line
existing in Yerznkyan street out of operation and reconstruct it with D=110-160mm
L=800m polyethylene pipes. It is also envisaged to replace entry lines of private houses by
D=25-32mm L=900m polyethylene pipes by installing the reinforced concrete water meter
manholes.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Mounting of the valves of the entry lines and a pressure regulation valve
Mounting of water meter joints
Installation of 1 fire hydrant
Works are continued.
Second stage
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Mounting of the valves of the entry lines
Mounting of water meter joints
Restoration of asphalt concrete cover
Works are continued.
1.2.2. Sectorization of water supply network of
Argavand and Geghanist communes
Sectorization of water supply network which is being carried out in Argavand and
Geghanist communes will enable to simplify water supply system. Removal of the
emergent water lines from operation will result the elimination of frequent breakdowns
and it will improve water supply continuity.
During the reporting period restoration of asphalt concrete cover was carried out.

1.2.3. Reconstruction of the water line starting from shoe factory of N.Nork 5
housing area and going up to to the construction college
Due to many years operation D=200mm water line feeding a section of Nor Norq 5th
housing area is corroded. Breakdowns and water losses are frequent.
By the design it is envisaged to replace the operating water line and valves by new
D=200mm water line and new valves.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Digging of a trench and mounting of D=110mm L=8m, D=63mm L=87m
polyethylene pressure pipes
Construction of 1 D=1000mm reinforced concrete collapsible manhole
Connections of the entry lines of the
buildings
Construction of 5 reinforced concrete
water meter manholes
Asphalt laying
Works are over.
1.2.4. Reconstruction of water lines of Komitas and
Safaryan streets in Eghvard city
Due to the deterioration of water lines in Safaryan street it is impossible to eliminate water
losses. In order to improve water supply and eliminate losses it is envisaged to construct
D=160mm L=450m polyethylene water line.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Digging of a trench and mounting of D=160mm L=300m, D=25mm L=400m
polyethylene pressure pipes
Construction of 7 reinforced concrete water meter manholes

Reconstruction of D=1250mm and D=1500mm reinforced concrete collapsible
manholes with the appropriate water supply joints in the crossings of Abovyan-
S.Nova streets and Komitas-Nar-Dos streets and in P.Sevak street
Asphalt laying
Works are over.
1.2.5. Reconstruction of the interyard water supply network and water lines of
private houses in S.Zoravar street, construction of water meter joints and manholes
Cast-iron and steel water lines feeding the area are deteriorated. There are numerous
breakdowns with large water loss. Water lines pass through the areas of private houses and
workshops which impedes the detection and elimination of breakdowns.
By the design it is envisaged to reconstruct the water line by D=160mm L=226m,
D=110mm L=380m, D=63mm L=114m polyethylene pipes as well as move the water meter
joints of private houses to the demarcation
point.
During the reporting period the following
works were carried out:
Mounting of D=110mm L=270m and
D=160mm L=121m polyethylene pipes
Construction of 6 D=1500mm manholes
Works are continued.
1.2.6. Reconstruction of the water lines of the alleys in Avan 14 street
Water lines of the alleys in Avan 14 street were built in 60-70-ies by steel pipes. In the
course of time they were corroded and it brings to numerous breakdowns and water loss.
By the design it is envisaged to reconstruct the water line of Avan 14 street and
Khudyakov alleys by D=50-90mm polyethylene pipes and reconstruct the connections of
private houses by D=25mm pressure pipes.

During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Mounting of D=90mm L=405m and D=63mm L=179m polyethylene pipes
Mounting of 56 water meter joints
Installation of 70 reinforced concrete water meter manholes in private houses
Works are continued.
1.2.7. Reconstruction of the emergent sewer line of 18-22 and 15 buildings,
Davitashen 1 district
Sewer lines of 20-22 buildings of Davitashen 1 district were built in 70-ies by ceramic
pipes. In the course of time they were corroded and it makes future operation of the sewer
lines impossible.
It is envisaged to reconstruct D=300mm sewer line starting from the angle of N 20 building
and going up to N 18 building by connecting it to the operating sewer line.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Digging of a trench as well as mounting of
D=300mm L=20m polyethylene corrugated
sewer pipes
Construction of 10 D=1000mm reinforced
concrete collapsible sewer manholes
Works are continued.
1.2.8. Reconstruction of the water line starting from the crossing of
Norashkharhayin-M.Avetisyan 4 streets and going up to N 17/1 building of
Rubinyants street
D=80mm steel water line starting from the crossing of Norashkharhayin-M.Avetisyan 4th
streets and going up to N 17/1 building of Rubinyants street was fully corroded.
Consequently it is impossible to operate the water line, eliminate breakdowns and detect
leakages.

By the design it is envisaged to reconstruct the water line by D=110mm L=180m and
D=25-32mm L=150m polyethylene pipes.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Digging of a trench as well as mounting of D=110mm L=180m polyethylene pressure
pipes
Construction of 2 D=1000mm reinforced concrete collapsible and 20 reinforced
concrete water meter manholes
Asphalt laying
Works are over.
1.2.9. Reconstruction of the water line starting from the church “Saint Hakob”,
Qanaqer 6 street and going up to the house N 23/1, Fanarjyan street
D=150mm cast-iron water line starting from the church “Saint Hakob”, Qanaqer 6 street
and going up to the house N 23/1, Fanarjyan street passes through the area of private
houses which makes the operation of the water line, control, elimination and detection of
breakdowns and leakages impossible
It is necessary to remove the mentioned water line from the private areas and construct
new D=150mm water line by polyethylene pipes.
At the same time 70 D=20-25mm water meter joint of private houses will be moved to the
demarcation point.
During the reporting period the following works
were carried out:

Construction of 3 D=1500mm reinforced
concrete collapsible manholes
Construction of 60 reinforced concrete water meter manholes

1.2.10. Reconstruction of the water lines feeding Komitas 49/1, 49/2, 49/3, 49/4, 49/5
and 51/2 buildings and removal of D=150mm L=110m cast-iron water line of
Aygedzor street from operation
Due to deterioration of the water lines feeding Komitas 49/1, 49/2, 49/3, 49/4, 49/5 and
51/2 buildings there are water losses. That is why for the improvement of water supply it is
envisaged to remove the existing water lines feeding the buildings from operation and
construct a new water line by D=100mm L=200m polyethylene pipes.
A section of D=150mm L=80m water line of Aygedzor street passes through the privatized
areas and beneath the buildings, that is why it is impossible to eliminate the existing losses.
It is necessary to move the connections of 8 private houses to D=300mm water line passing
through the same street by building new D=20-
25mm L=45m water line.
During the reporting period the following works

Construction of 4 reinforced concrete
water meter manholes in Aygedzor street
Asphalt laying
Works are over.
1.2.11. Reconstruction of the water line of Avan 5th street
Water lines of Avan 5th street were built in 60-70-ies by steel pipes. They have been
corroded and it causes numerous breakdowns and water losses on the water line.
By the design it is envisaged to reconstruct the water line by D=90mm polyethylene pipes.
During the reporting period works on macadam preparatory layer and asphalt laying were
carried out.
Works are over.

1.2.12. Reconstruction of the manholes of V.Shengavit 2 street and the water line of the alley
Due to many years operation the water line feeding V.Shengavit 2 street has been
corroded. Breakdowns that bring to large water losses are frequent.
By the design it is envisaged to build D=63mm L=102m water line and manholes with
relevant valves.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Mounting of D=63 L=102m water line
Construction of 3 distributing and 17 water meter manholes
Works on macadam preparatory layer and asphalt laying
Works are over.
1.2.13. Reconstruction of the sewer lines of Tbilisyan roadway 5
and Aghbyur Serob 5 buildings
Sewer line of Tbilisyan roadway 5 building had been built by ceramic pipes which were
corroded due to frequent blockings. It caused insanitation for the surroundings as well as
complication of future operation of the sewer line.
Sewer line of Aghbyur Serob 5 building had been built with inadmissible inclination, that
is why it was often blocked.
It is envisaged to build D=200mm sewer line for Aghbyur Serob 5 building and D=300mm
sewer line for Tbilisyan roadway 5 building.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Mounting of polyethylene corrugated pipe of D=300mm L=61m sewer line and
construction of 4 manholes in Tbilisyan roadway 5
Mounting of polyethylene corrugated pipe of D=200mm L=49m sewer line in
Aghbyur Serob 5
Works are continued.

1.2.14. Reconstruction of the sewer lines of Sose 4, 6 buildings and
Kievyan 2 alley 11 building
Sewer line of N 11 building of Kievyan 2 alley passes under a construction. It makes the
operation of the sewer line impossible.
By the design it is envisaged to reconstruct the sewer line by connecting it to the sewer
line of Kievyan 18 building.
By the design it is envisaged to reconstruct the sewer line of Sose 4 and 6 buildings by
D=200mm L=44m polyethylene corrugated pipes and the sewer line of N 11 building of
Kievyan 2 alley- by D=200mm L=41m polyethylene corrugated pipes.
During the reporting period in Kievyan 2 alley mounting of polyethylene corrugated pipes
of D=200mm L=23m sewer line was carried out.
Works are continued.
1.2.15. Reconstruction of the water line of 39a house in the blind alley of
Metsarents street
Water line of the blind alley of Metsarents street is on 40-70cm depth. The pipe is fully
deteriorated and breakdowns are frequent.
By the design it is envisaged to reconstruct the water line by D=63mm polyethylene pipes
and the connections of private houses- by D=25mm pressure pipes.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Mounting of D=63mm L=140m water line
Construction of 14 distributing and 17 water meter manholes
Works are continued.
1.2.16. Removal of two water lines feeding Silikyan district from operation
Two water lines feeding Silikyan district which crosses Ashtarak roadway pass through
production units and the constructed sections.
By the design it is envisaged to remove D=400mm and D=200mm pipes from operation and

to install new polyethylene relevant D=315mm and D=150mm pipes through them.
It is also envisaged to test and operate the existing D=500mm pipeline being in store.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Construction of 1 D=1500mm L=2m reinforced
concrete collapsible manhole with its relevant valve
junction
Testing of the existing D=500mm steel water
pipe
Works are continued.
1.2.17. Reconstruction of the water line of Brusov district
2 D=100mm water lines pass through Brusov street. One of them is deteriorated and the
second has been built lately. Thus it is expedient to reconnect the connections from the
old deteriorated water line to the second one.
During the reporting period the following works were carried out:
Mounting of D=160mm L=4m, D=90mm
L=38m, D=75mm L=121m, D=63mm L=53m,
D=40mm L=160m, D=32mm L=36m

Continuous works aimed at the detection and legalization of illegalities, as well as the adjustments of the data of the subscribers in the
computer database and the implementation of the required changes were done.

3.2. Metering
The directorate continues to take measures for bringing metering to maximum elucidating the meaning and the importance of a
