From the Chairman’s Desk

Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics & Dyes Export Promotion Council, popularly known as CHEMEXCIL was established

in the year 1963 by the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry with the objective of promoting

exports of Dyes & Dye Intermediates, Organic & Inorganic Chemicals, Agro Chemicals, Pesticides, Bio-fertilizers,

Soaps, Detergents, Cosmetics, Toiletries, Essential Oils, Castor Oils etc from India to Overseas markets.

Moreover, CHEMEXCIL with a membership base of over 3900 provides free service as a reliable single point

source of contact to help buyers in sourcing from India.

Like India, Iran is also an emerging market with immense potential. At present, India-Iran enjoys economic and

commercial ties covering many sectors. However, the trade relations have traditionally been buoyed by Indian

import of Iranian crude oil resulting in overall trade balance in favour of Iran.

From Chemicals perspective Iran is a promising market especially for Inorganic, Organic & Agro Chemicals, Dyes

& Dye Intermediate, Cosmetics and Toiletries. In value terms, the total export performance of the items covered

under the purview of CHEMEXCIL to Iran for the year 2014-15 was USD 209 Million out of which exports of

Dyes & Dye Intermediate, Inorganic, Organic & Agro Chemicals accounted for USD 171 Million and that of

Cosmetics & Toiletries accounted for USD 36 Million.

I am glad to inform you that CHEMEXCIL has participated in “Iran Beauty and Clean Exhibition” held from 24th -

27th April, 2016 at Tehran, Iran. Dr J P Tiwari, Regional Director was deputed along with 12 member exporters

for participation in this Exhibition which has provided a window of opportunities to our exporting community

to clinch attractive business deals and a vibrant platform to show-case their manufacturing capabilities for

fructification of “Make in India” program of the Government of India.

I wish all the participants and visitors at Iran Beauty and Clean Exhibition at Tehran all the success in their

endeavour.
