GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS
1. Electromagnetic Survey
The electromagnetic survey was completed with a MaxMin II
electromagnetic instrument manufactured by Apex Paranetrics
Ltd. utilizing a 150 metre reference cable. Operating
frequencies of 444 and 1777 Hz were recorded throughout the
survey. Technical and operational specifications of the
MaxMin II instrument are included as Appendix A of this
report.
The results of the EM survey are presented as Map l (showing
the 44 Hz frequency) and Map 2 {showing the 1777 Hz
frequency) in the back pocket of this report. These results
are summarized below.
2. Magnetometer Survey
A Geometrics G-816 proton precession magnetometer was used
throughout the survey. Correction for diurnal variations in
the magnetic field were made by reference to the Recording
Base Station Magnetometer G-826A manufactured by Exploranium
Geometrics Ltd.
3. Survey Results
The MaxMin survey located two anomalous zones (A and B)
4. Conductor Characteristics
Zone AL375 mE to L750 mE
135 itiN to 150 mN
MaxMin1777 Hz - Strike length of 250 metres
@ 0850
- Dip is near vertical
- Depth and conductivity of the zone is questionable due to the presence of conductive overburden
444 Hz - Strike and dip is similar to the 1777 Hz
- Depth to source of less than 50 metres
- Conductivity of 20-35 mhos
4. Conductor Characteristics (Cont'd)
Zone AL375 iHE to L750 mE 135 mN to 150 mlJ
Magnetics - There is no apparent magcorrelation with the conductor* The only nag noted is on the east portion of the grid extending from L500 mE to 750 mE flanking Zone A to the north and an east- west trend south of the baseline on 250 mE to 500 mE
Zone BLO+00 to 250 mE 45 mS to 15 mN
1777 Hz - Strike length of 250 m @ 0750
- Dip direction of near vertical
- Depth to source of approximately 30 metres
- Conductivity of 15 mhos
444 Hz - Strike and dip is similar to 1777 Hz
- Depth to source of less than 50 metres
- Conductivity of 10 to 20 mhos
Magnetics - Mag shows strong north flanking mag on LO+00 which is broadening to the east
CONCLUSIONS
Both zones are well defined anomalies on the 444 frequency but
are underlying a sheet of highly conductive overburdent liiis
conductive overburden is very evident on the 1777 frequency
increasing eastwardly from L125 raE.
Also, zones A and B are probably defining the same conductive
horizon which may have been shifted or faulted slightly.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Ito further geophysics is required to define the zone and if
drilling is required, L125 mE or L500 mE should be considered.
