Report from Accommodation Facilities meeting Hostel reception, kitchens, TV rooms

• Need for new bigger reception, kitchens, TV rooms in the same place under supervision to improve cleaness and order

• Old kitchens, reception, TV rooms could be transformed into bed rooms to increase the number of beds

• Different options around building 222 are in the study: reconstruction, destruction, new building, more floors with bedrooms

• More studies is needed before any decision is taken

Report from Accommodation Facilities meeting WEB BOOKING

• Project is on the way, but software company is not yet ready. Some actions to speed it up are on the way

• Payment system for hostel will be common with new payment system for CERN workshops

• Expect start-up of web booking in September 2008


Report from Accommodation Facilities meeting WWW INFORMATION ON ROOM AVAILABILITY

• WWW page operational from 9 June 2008• http://housing-service.web.cern.ch/housing-service/hostelwelc.html

• This is temporary solution before the software for real time availability will be available

• Manual update two times per day, except week-ends. Due to fluctuations, please, do not expect exactly the same availability at the time your request arrives to the hostel desk.

• Negative numbers means no rooms available. Please, interpret negative as zero and do not worry. There will be no problems with overbooking.

• Next real time version will be without negative numbers, but this manual table is already very useful both for users planning and for better efficiency of the room usage
