In the removal procedure, the R&DS will direct a returnee to INS in case of presumptions of asylum, suspected human-trafficking and when it becomes evident that the returnee will not be issued a travel document for the removal.

Consequently, the removal procedure can be extended to a unpredictable length of time.Sometimes, the returnee remains in detention. Often, the procedure with the INS requires more time and the detention of the returnee will be lifted.
