Passive Voice¿Qué es passive voice? Es cuando en las oraciones se elimina el SUJETO y tiene más importancia la ACCIÓN de la que se habla en la oración.

Subject + verb be + past participle

*Active Voice: They gave William a present.

*Passive Voice: William was given a present. *Se elimina THEY*

Passive Voice IIAquí se utilizan Progressive tenses, que son los que llevan ING.

Be + being + the past participle of the main verb.

Present Progressive Past Progressive

I am being called.

Are you being called?

I was being called.

Were you being called?

*Make, see, hear, etc. are followed by full infinitive (to).

Ex. ACTIVE VOICE: My mom made me eat the whole soup.

PASSIVE VOICE: I was made to eat the whole soup.

*When a verb (give, offer, send, etc.) takes two objects in the Active Voice, there are two ways of forming the Passsive Voice.

Ex. ACTIVE VOICE: They gave William a present.

PASSIVE VOICE: William was given a present.

PASSIVE VOICE: A present was given to William.
