It is certainly not an easy task for new people in Beijing to look for a suitable apartment to rent. There

you are a foreigner and don't know much about the city, they might try to take advantage of your

situation. They may try to quote higher prices since you are not aware of the market rental prices, or

they may show you apartments which have lot of problems. This might cause you severe inconvenience

because once you rent an apartment and negotiate a deal and all paperwork is finished, then you find

out about some problems in that apartment, you would not be able to do much in such a situation.

You have to be very careful as many times agents will show properties which look good from the outside

but there might be many problems inside the house or flat like leaking pipes, non-working shower

heads, broken tiles, etc. One of the ways people new in the city can find good Beijing houses for rent is

by checking out online websites for classified ads of properties for rent. But you have to be careful here

also as agents post many fake ads and try to cheat people.
