COUNTER DEMOLITION GENERAL NOTES

1. THE DEMOLITION NOTES PROVIDE A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEMS AND AREAS REQUIRING REMOVAL. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY ACTUAL DIMENSIONS, QUANTITIES, AND LOCATIONS OF ALL INDICATED ITEMS AS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE SCOPE OF WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. ALL DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE BROUGHT IMMEDIATELY TO THE ARCHITECTS FIELD REPRESENTATIVE IN WRITING.

2. DEMOLITION, REMOVAL, ALTERATION, AND PATCHING WORK SHALL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WORK SHOWN IN THE DRAWINGS FOR ITS INTENDED USE. INDICATION NOTES DO NOT LIMIT THEIR APPLICATION TO AREAS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WORK.

3. A MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL BE MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF CONSTRUCTION.

4. UNDOCUMENTED UTILITY SYSTEMS SHALL REMAIN IN-USE THROUGHOUT DEMO/CONSTRUCTION, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. UPON DISCOVERY OF UNDOCUMENTED UTILITIES, NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT AND DOCUMENT LOCATION.

5. DISRUPTION OF NORMAL ACTIVITIES ARE TO BE KEPT TO AN ABSOLUTE MINIMUM (COORDINATE WITH OWNERS REPRESENTATIVE TO DETERMINE THE HOURS THIS WORK IS TO BE PERFORMED). DUST, DEBRIS AND FUMES SHALL BE CONTROLLED SO AS NOT TO AFFECT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OCCUPIED AREAS WITHIN THE BUILDING WHICH ARE OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF WORK. COORDINATE WITH THE OWNERS REPRESENTATIVE WITH REGARD TO ALL ACTIVITIES TO BE CONDUCTED OUTSIDE OF THE DEMOLITION AREA WHICH MAY AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE BUILDING.

6. WALL MOUNTED EQUIPMENT SHALL BE COORDINATED FOR SALVAGE WITH THE OWNER PRIOR TO DEMOLITION; SECURITY DEVICES, SIGNAGE, COMM. DEVICES, EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT, TEMP. CONTROLS, AV & ADVERTISEMENT DEVICES, ETC.

7. REFER TO ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS FOR ADDITIONAL DEMOLITION REQUIREMENTS.
