TWO PATHS FOR THE SAME DESTINATION:
RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ENERGY CONSERVATION
BY DEEPAK SHUKLA

Demand of energy is ever increasing in the world while production of electricity is not able to run as fast.
The gap between demand and supply is increasing day by day specially for developing countries like India and china because they need energy for industrial growth as well as to raise the living standards of their citizens.
And we have to do all this keeping in mind the environmental problems like global warming, pollution, we cannot disturb the whole balance.
So the destination is GREEN ENERGY BALANCE between supply and demand
Which destination??

PATH 1 Increase production: this is the most obvious
answer which comes to anyone’s mind. The trick lies in the fact that how we are producing or generating energy. Non renewable energy resources such as coal, gas etc will not be there for ever. They are fast depleting as well as producing huge amount of environmental pollution. So, we need those sources of energy which are not only long lasting but are also environment friendly. The answer is renewable energy.
TWO PATHS to bridge the gap:

What are renewable energy resources??

One major advantage with the use of renewable energy is that as it is renewable it is therefore sustainable and so will never run out.
Renewable energy facilities generally require less maintenance than traditional generators. Their fuel being derived from natural and available resources reduces the costs of operation.
Even more importantly, renewable energy produces little or no waste products such as carbon dioxide or other chemical pollutants, so has minimal impact on the environment.
Renewable energy projects can also bring economic benefits to many regional areas, as most projects are located away from large urban centres and suburbs of the capital cities. These economic benefits may be from the increased use of local services as well as tourism.
The Advantages of Renewable Energy
GREEN YATRA, DEEPAK SHUKLA
One disadvantage with renewable energy is that it is difficult to generate the quantities of electricity that are as large as those produced by traditional fossil fuel generators. This may mean that we need to reduce the amount of energy we use or simply build more energy facilities. It also indicates that the best solution to our energy problems may be to have a balance of many different power sources.
Another disadvantage of renewable energy sources is the reliability of supply. Renewable energy often relies on the weather for its source of power. Hydro generators need rain to fill dams to supply flowing water. Wind turbines need wind to turn the blades, and solar collectors need clear skies and sunshine to collect heat and make electricity. When these resources are unavailable so is the capacity to make energy from them. This can be unpredictable and inconsistent.
The current cost of renewable energy technology is also far in excess of traditional fossil fuel generation. This is because it is a new technology and as such has extremely large capital cost.

PATH 2
It is often said that ENERGY SAVED IS ENERGY PRODUCED. This is the most important thing because it connects to you people instantly. NOT ALL CAN WORK FOR ENERGY PRODUCTION BUT ALL CAN WORK FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION.

the consumers have to put off the switches when it is not needed
to use fluorescent tubes in place of incandescent bulbs
to oil the electric machines timely, to use sunlight as much as possible
to use light painting on the walls, to keep the door of refrigerator close as quickly as possible, and
to use energy efficient items as much as possible etc
Common day to day practices everyone should do:

How? Energy production require natural resources and
creates pollution. By switching off a bulb you are actually helping to save our jungles. Greater forest area will mean lesser tiger human conflicts.
just think and everyone of us can make a lot of difference.
Just an example, you might be saving life of a tiger just by switching off a bulb

About Green Yatra Green Yatra is a registered non-profit trust and a non-government organization (NGO) dedicated to the protection and conservation of our Mother Earth and it’s
environment. We strive to maintain the integrity of the ecosystem for the benefit of all living creatures by introducing and adopting simple green lifestyle, eco-friendly
ideas in our daily lives.
Green Yatra was started and run by individuals who share a strong love and passion for protecting and respecting our only source of life—Mother Nature. We believe in
ACTION by doing as much as we can to preserve our environment. Sitting idly, complaining, blaming the system, societies, or commenting on internet forums are
THINGS WE DO NOT DO. We believe that by working logically, strategically, and practically with prevention and solution oriented approaches is the only way to
reach our goal of nature conservation. The impact of Go Green Ganesha is a token of our dedication, effort, and hard work. We are working sincerely with devotion
toward bringing out the VALUE of our nature, hoping for your complete support…
